Great news for banks looking to digitize FX and international payment capabilities.

Excellent points in this blog. Current metrics are evolving but may not be adequate for a real-time treasury environment. According to the Triennial Federal Reserve Payments Study (updated in July 2023), the total volume of non-cash transactions in the U.S. - including cards, ACH, checks, and ATM cash withdrawals while wire transfers are excluded from the count - totaled over 200 billion in 2021. Consider that Q3 RTP volume (per The Clearinghouse) annualized to ~250MM has just grown to slightly more that 0.1% of total U.S. non-cash payments. While immediate payments are a small percentage of the total market, they are growing rapidly. Manage your liquidity against current and projected payment practices.

Well the numbers were alright. Until they weren't! You will get a tick in the box if you file the regulatory report on time and exceed the minimum values. Fabulous. But, a nice report card will not save you if your financial institution runs out of liquidity.
