I'm pleased to announce that my paper, "Evaluating the influence of morphological features on the vulnerability of lipid-rich plaques during stenting", has been accepted for publication in ASME Journal of Biomechanical Engineering. Heart diseases and buildup of lipid deposits in arteries make up for the majority of global morbidity and mortality, showing just how important it is to improve diagnostic and therapeutic tools. Nowadays, stent deployment has become a go-to solution for these conditions, but complications can still happen if proper pre-planning and optimization aren't done. This research dives into how these deposits react to stenting and what plaque characteristics potentially cause them to rupture and lead to further issues. It's our firm believe that these findings will hold promise in supporting clinical decisions and guide intervention planning.
