🌙 As a skincare formulator and practitioner of East Asian medicine, I’m often asked about the most effective ingredients for maintaining youthful, healthy skin. While retinol is well-known for promoting cell turnover and reducing fine lines, I often recommend bakuchiol as a gentler alternative. Bakuchiol offers similar benefits to retinol, including improving skin texture and boosting collagen production, without the potential irritation. Hyaluronic acid remains crucial for hydration, attracting and retaining moisture to keep the skin supple and reduce dryness. Peptides also play a key role by supporting collagen production, which is essential for maintaining the skin's structure and firmness. When choosing a night cream, I always recommend looking for these ingredients to help your skin stay hydrated, smooth, and youthful. Consistency and the right formulation can make all the difference in achieving your skincare goals. 🌿 Check out the article here: https://lnkd.in/gq3mDGiP #retinol #Bakuchiol #AntiAging #HealthySkin #BeautyTips #TOM #TCM #cleanbeauty Dr. Jenelle Kim

Proper cleansing is often overlooked but is essential for maintaining the longevity and effectiveness of injectable treatments. A well-cleansed face ensures that the skin is free of impurities, allowing injectables to work more effectively and deliver optimal results. Regular cleansing helps to remove dirt, oil, and makeup, which can clog pores and lead to breakouts. It also prepares the skin to absorb other skincare products better, enhancing their efficacy. By incorporating a thorough cleansing routine into your daily regimen, you can maximise the benefits of your injectable treatments and enjoy long-lasting, radiant results. What is causing my acne? Have you ever wondered if the new skincare product you introduced into your regimen is causing you to break out? You might be concerned whether you’re having a reaction or if you should stop the product all together. In general, if it is a product that exfoliates the skin or speeds up cell turnover, chances are you may simply be experiencing skin purging. The active ingredients in these products can cause any underlying acne to come to the surface all at once. If your skin is not accustomed or acclimated to these kinds of ingredients it can cause purging, which is normal so please don’t panic! Unless you are having irritation, burning, swelling, or flakiness, you should be able continue with your new product. The dosage or frequency of use may need to be adjusted. Even then, there are some specific, more aggressive products that may cause this anticipated reaction no matter what. We expect this to happen. This is why it is imperative that you are in close communication with a trusted skincare professional who can guide you through your products and what to expect. It is also important to use professional skincare products so that you know you are using quality ingredients, advanced delivery systems, and can achieve results that are backed by clinical trials. Finding the perfect retinoid for your clients’ unique skincare needs is crucial to achieving the best results. Here’s a quick guide to help you select the right one: 🔶 Retinyl Esters: These are gentle on the skin, providing antioxidant benefits along with firming and balancing properties. Ideal for those who have sensitive skin and can’t tolerate stronger forms of retinoids. 🔶#Retinol: Known for stimulating collagen synthesis and improving skin texture and elasticity. It’s more potent than retinyl esters but can be more irritating, so start clients on a low percentage and gradually increase. 🔶#Retinaldehyde: Effective in treating acne, preventing clogged pores, and has antibacterial properties. At 0.1%, it’s the most potent non-prescription retinoid, making it a great choice for those needing a bit more strength without a prescription. 🔶Retinoic Acid/Tretinoin: This is the most potent form and often requires a prescription. It’s highly effective but has the highest potential for irritation. Always monitor your clients closely and recommend layering with moisturizers and serums high in emollients and humectants to mitigate irritation. Remember, understanding your clients’ skin type and tolerance is key to choosing the right retinoid and ensuring they get the maximum benefit from their skincare routine.
