My first blog collaboration here in the UK is on a topic I've been working on for a few years, even back in Brazil, when NetZero emerged from the Draft Project: sustainability. Now the focus is engineering. As the UK accelerates toward net-zero by 2050, we point some tips on how the construction industry can be impactful, and avoid greenwashing in the article "The Challenge to Avoid Greenwashing in Construction". Good read!

🚀 Exciting Milestone: WSP Completes Feasibility Study in Belfast 🚀 WSP has just completed a comprehensive feasibility study for a pioneering magnet rare earth recycling facility in Belfast, something that truly propels us towards a greener future.🌿 This ambitious project, known as Project Ionic Rare Earth Recycling, aims to construct a cutting-edge recycling plant on Queens Road, Belfast. Rare earths are essential for the Net Zero energy transition, with demand expected to surge to 169,000 tonnes per annum by 2040, largely driven by their use in wind turbine generators and electric vehicles. WSP's collaboration with Ionic Technologies is not just timely but crucial, aiming to recycle secure and traceable rare earth oxides from end-of-life magnets, reducing our reliance on China, which currently dominates 87% of global REO production. The study's success marks a significant milestone for Ionic Technologies, showcasing a 40-fold increase in capacity from their existing demonstration plant. WSP's comprehensive design—which includes process engineering, environmental consultancy, and architectural planning—emphasises the importance of sustainability at every stage. As Andrew Woodward from WSP stated, this innovative project underscores our shared commitment to achieving net zero together. Let's discuss how these pioneering projects can further our sustainability goals. What innovations do you see shaping the future of recycling and renewable energy? Share your thoughts! 💬 #Sustainability #Innovation #NetZero
