Never multiply by zero. I avoided Naval Ravikant for 3 years. When "everyone" turned right, I turned left. Yes, it's not the best decision I've ever made. Well, I’ve read the book now and he knows. Just like Ben Franklin and Charlie Munger did. But there are 2 big problems. Ravikant stated, “The classical virtues are all decision-making heuristics to make one optimize for the long term rather than for the short term … “Almost all biases are time-saving heuristics. For important decisions, discard memory and identity, and focus on the problem.” Big problem 1: "Nobody" designs their value system. Few people know what values truly are. Big problem 2: Few know how to create a value system that compounds value. Decisions producing losses are therefore common. You can spend years building and creating value. You only need to multiply by zero once to go to 0. From hero to 0 is some scary nonlinearity. What's the solution? 👇 P.S. 💡a glimpse into Naval's wisdom: 💎The measure of wealth is freedom. 🧠A fit body, a calm mind, a house full of love. These things cannot be bought - they must be earned. ✅The quality of your mind is the quality of your life. 🪝Learn to sell. Learn to build. If you can do both, you will be unstoppable. 🧞♀️Desire is a contract you make with yourself to be unhappy until you get what you want. 🛝Play long-term games with long-term people.

People like this is the best advice for 2024
The clarity of thought from Naval Ravikant is simply outstanding. Problems happen when we have too many desires or goals. Happiness tied to money. Money tied to status and so on so forth. What is that one thing you desire and are so willing to work towards it? Doesn't mean you can't have it all but if you focus for a long time on just that one thing, I believe others are by products and you don't chase them. They become incidental. This hold true for both personal and professional lives, esp founders who build too much, too many features etc etc or keep chasing funding also. Focus on one thing and then build on top. #choices

🚀 Finished the First Part of Almanack of Naval Ravikant: Building Wealth 💡 As I wrap up this section, here are the final key takeaways: 1️⃣ Luck Turns Into Destiny 🍀 Luck becomes deterministic when you build your character right. Your reputation, integrity, and long-term thinking turn luck into destiny. 🌟 Be the trusted dealmaker, and people will seek you out just for the integrity you’ve built. 💼 2️⃣ Patience is Key ⏳ Great people achieve great outcomes, but it takes time. Every successful person I (Naval Ravikant) met early in my career became successful, but it didn’t happen overnight. 🕒 Be patient, apply specific knowledge with leverage, and you will get what you deserve. 🎯 Moral of the story: Build your character, be patient, and success will follow. 🚀 Stay tuned for more as I continue this enlightening journey! 📚💥 #Wealth #Patience #Luck #Destiny #Success #NavalRavikant #BookJourney

Lessons from Almanack of Naval Ravikant Part 3: 1. If you want to be part of a great tech company, then you need to be able to SELL or BUILD. If you don’t do either, learn. 2. Earn with your mind, not your time. 3. We waste our time with short-term thinking and busywork. Warren Buffett spends a year deciding and a day acting. That act lasts decades. 4. Value your time at an hourly rate, and ruthlessly spend to save time at that rate. You will never be worth more than you think you’re worth. 5. There are fundamentally two huge games in life that people play. One is the money game. Because money is not going to solve all of your problems, but it’s going to solve all of your money problems. People realize that, so they want to make money.

🚀 The Journey Continues: Insights from Almanack of Naval Ravikant 💡 This weekend I dove deeper into some profound ideas. Here's what stood out: 1️⃣ Choosing to Free Yourself 🕊️ Naval talks about freedom, not just the external kind, but the deep, internal freedom we all seek. The hardest thing isn’t doing what you want, it’s knowing what you want. There are no adults with all the answers—everyone is figuring it out as they go. You must carve your own path by picking, choosing, and discarding what doesn't fit. His definition of freedom? Freedom from reaction. Freedom from anger. Freedom from expectations. Freedom from employment. Freedom from uncontrolled thinking. This internal freedom is what Naval seeks most now. 🌱 2️⃣ The Meaning of Life 🌌 Naval gives three interpretations of life’s meaning, and all are equally mind-bending: It’s Personal: No one can tell you what the meaning of life is—not even Buddha. You must find it yourself. There’s No Meaning: Life, art, and even civilization are fleeting. One day, the sun will burn out, the universe will collapse into silence, and everything we’ve ever done will be gone. Entropy: On a scientific level, life reverses entropy locally by creating order, but we accelerate entropy globally. Eventually, the universe will reach its final state—no energy, no movement. In the end, everything is one. 🔄 3️⃣ The Present is All We Have ⏳ Naval reminds us that there is only the present. No one has ever gone back in time, and no one has ever successfully predicted the future. The only thing that exists is this exact moment in space and time. We are constantly dying and being reborn with every breath we take, and it’s up to us to choose whether to remember or forget this truth. The present moment is the only reality—everything else is an illusion. 🌟 #Freedom #MeaningOfLife #Entropy #PresentMoment #NavalRavikant #BookJourney
