The last few years have seen a rise in circular practices within the luxury fashion industry. Think Gucci’s Circular Hub, Coach’s (Re)Loved exchange and upcycling programme, and Stella McCartney’s research into circular textiles and recycled/recyclable materials. Circularity in luxury store designs, however, is lagging behind. Our head of sustainability Oliver Hall and in-house copywriter Kate F. outline how rethinking fit-outs for disassembly, re-use, and recycling through a circular economy lens can offer significant environmental and financial benefits. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eucD-2aK #circulareconomy #circularfashion #reuse #retaildesign #makearchitects

As we come to the end of the fall 2024 season of New York Fashion Week and London Fashion Week, it can be hard to look past the beautiful clothes, stunning models and talented designers to see what's really being shown on the runway -- clothing that pollutes or prioritizes our planet? Although we still see many events showcasing fast fashion brands and designers that don't disclose their environmental impacts, it's exciting to see sustainability slowly taking in the spotlight at Fashion Week. This year, there were multiple shows--including eBay's "Endless Runway" and Oxfam's "Style for Change"--that highlighted pre-loved designer looks. #Circularity is the future of #fashion! Fashion Week is when designers set the trends for the next season. That’s why the next big trend we want to see on the catwalk is fashion that prioritizes the planet. You can read more about sustainability at NYFW / LFW in the article below: https://lnkd.in/gYgrCyfB #FashionWeek #NYFW #NFW #sustainablefashion #WasteIsOutOfFashion

Reimagining the Old Ones My day-to-day work is not just about creating new pieces—it is about reimagining the old ones. Recently, I had the opportunity to repair a used jean. With a few thoughtful touches and the addition of some stylish labels, it was transformed into something not only wearable but truly unique (comes with a customer review😃). This is what sustainable fashion is all about. Upcycling is more than just a trend; it is a commitment to creativity, resourcefulness, and responsibility. By giving new life to discarded items, we are not only reducing waste but also challenging the fast fashion mentality that prioritises the new over the meaningful. The daily act of upcycling is not just about the clothes we save; it is about fostering a mindset that values quality, durability, and innovation. It is about creating pieces with stories and purpose, and reminding ourselves that sometimes, the most stylish choice is the one that is already in our closet. Every fashion designer continue to embrace sustainable fashion—one repair, one redesign, one creative decision at a time. #fashionblogger #sustainablefashion #sustainableliving #fashiontrends2024 #sustainabledesign

London Fashion Week SS25 cemented sustainability as a cornerstone of the fashion industry💂♀️🇬🇧 The season showcased a remarkable convergence of creativity and conscious design, with designers pushing boundaries in new, exciting and meaningful ways. A defining trend was the emphasis on circularity! ♻️ From Vin + Omi's avant-garde textiles made from nettles and wood chippings to Oxfam and eBay's debut runway shows celebrating second-hand fashion, LFW highlighted the importance of rethinking the lifecycle of every garment. Beyond traditional recycling, designers experimented with a myriad of sustainable practices. Deadstock fabrics, upcycled materials, and bio-based dyes demonstrated that sustainable fashion is about more than just reducing waste — it’s about reimagining what fashion can be. Ultimately, LFW has once again proven itself as the industry's leading authority on fashion, and has set the stage for a more responsible and ethical future 🌟 #SS25 #LFWSS25 #LondonFashionWeek #SustainableFashion #CircularFashion #SlowFashion
