Here's the first of two new papers from the THz group at University of Leeds School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering / The Bragg Centre for Materials Research. Sanchit Kondawar and co-authors present a neat integrated technique for stabilising the output power of a terahertz quantum-cascade laser. Read free (open-access) here: https://lnkd.in/enHFgD-a This follows some great work by Imon Kundu a few years ago, in which he developed the underlying photonic-integrated circuit, and we were awarded funding by the UK Space Agency to study its suitability for satellite-borne receivers. The ongoing work was supported through my UK Research and Innovation Future Leaders Fellowship in THz atmospheric and space instrumentation. Thanks and credit to all our co-authors on this work! * Sanchit Kondawar, Nick North and Michael Horbury for THz characterisation and power-locking subsystem development, and especially to Sanchit for writing the manuscript! * Yingjun Han, Mohammed Salih, and Lianhe Li for growing, fabricating and characterising the QCL and integrated devices. * Diego Pardo, Nick Brewster, and Brian Ellison at STFC RAL Space for their precision development of THz micromachined waveguides, as part of our >10 year collaboration on THz space instrumentation * Imon Kundu, Brian Ellison, Paul Dean and Joshua Freeman for co-leading the project with me! #terahertz #photonics
Congratulations Dr. Sanchit Kondawar and team!! Many more papers to come!!✌🏻✌🏻
Congratulations to the THz group of University of Leeds!
