Top Tip: How to Model Multiple Constructions on One Surface Secondary wall constructions sometimes need to be included on a surface to model elements such as window lintels and opaque panels in a lightweight façade. In DesignBuilder, sub-surfaces are used to define areas of a surface having a different construction to that of the main surface construction.  Sub-surfaces are modelled to the same level of detail as standard surfaces and can be defined for external walls, partitions and pitched roofs. To add a sub-surface, navigate to the surface you wish to work on and select the “Draw sub-surface” tool from the toolbar.  You can set sub-surface default construction types at building, block, zone, and surface levels, or assign a unique construction type to any specific sub-surface by navigating to it.  More information on working with sub-surfaces can be found in our help article (https://lnkd.in/dmsaRiBv). #DesignBuilder #BuildingSimulation #3dmodeling
