How you can use a variable font instead of a static font in Figma Static fonts are fixed to a single specific style and do not offer a wide range of options beyond bold or italic. On the other hand, variable fonts use one or more axes to provide a wider range of styles and give users more flexibility and control over the appearance of their text. If you are using the Figma desktop app, you can access any fonts that are already installed on your computer. You can click on the filter dropdown to display available variable fonts only. To customize a variable font, select the text. Click on the type settings icon in the right sidebar, then go to the variable tab. Here, you will find sliders corresponding to the available axes of variation. Adjust these sliders to fine-tune the appearance of the font. The text variable menu can also be accessed by clicking the font style dropdown menu and choosing variable font axes. Any font weight or style you choose using the slider will be added to the wait list, which is very useful for maintaining consistency. #figmatips #figmatutorial #uidesign
