📊 The latest BC labour market information for August 2024 is now available from go2HR - the resource for people in tourism. Here are some of the highlights: 🔼 Employment in the tourism and hospitality sector saw a slight increase (1.6%) from July to August 2024, totalling 355,750 jobs. 🔼 Increased employment in the Food and Beverage, Recreation and Entertainment, and Transportation and Travel sectors, all of which are above pre-COVID levels compared to August 2019. 🔼 Employment increased in the Cariboo (13.8%), Lower Mainland (4.9%), Northern BC (7.7%), and Kootenay (12.8%) regions. 🔻 Decreased employment in the Thompson Okanagan (-0.6%) and Vancouver Island (-9.5%) regions. ⭐ Current employment is higher than pre-COVID levels with 5,500 more jobs compared to 2019 levels. ✅ Visit the Go2HR BC Tourism and Hospitality Employment Tracker for more detailed labour market information: https://lnkd.in/dDyqA28U #BCTourismCounts #EmploymentTracker
