Kaiser Permanente’s focus on preventative care means that cancer and other diseases are caught early. For individuals, that can mean more treatment options, better outcomes, and less invasive procedures. For employers, that means a workforce that is healthy, present, and productive. Quote in the comments from KP’s VP of National Clinical Programs, Mishellene McKinney… “We are in the top 10% nationwide for breast cancer screening...AND Kaiser Permanente had better 5-year survival rates among breast, colorectal, and lung cancer patients compared to the National Cancer Institute’s Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) estimates!” https://lnkd.in/gzSuu2aT #healthcare #kaiserpermanente #preventativecare #breastcancerscreening

One in eight women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime. Like many people, my family has experienced the impact. Breast cancer is the second-most common cancer and the second-leading cause of cancer death among American women, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Fortunately, regular mammograms can greatly increase the chance of detecting breast cancer early, when it’s easier to treat and survival rates are highest. Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a great reminder to prioritize scheduling your annual mammogram and encouraging those you love to do so. Ladies, please set an annual reminder on your calendar like I do so time doesn't slip by!! #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth #GoPink
