How does parks and recreation impact your community? The #1 purpose of parks and recreation departments is to provide high quality facilities and services to their local community. This can happen in a variety of ways, but let’s take it one step further. While municipalities invest millions each year into their parks and recreation departments across the country, it is more important now that ever before that we show return on investment. Investing into your parks is an investment into your whole community. Here is a quick snapshot of our crown jewel baseball/softball facility, Freedom Park. Freedom Park bosts 12 baseball/softball fields as well as 1 state of the art Mircle League synthetic surface field. This facility is utilized for our local youth and adult baseball and softball leagues throughout the week, and doubles as a tournament facility on the weekends.Since partnering with Placer.ai we have gained much insight on our parks visitation rate, number of park visitors, where they come from, and how long they stay. Not only are we providing high quality programs and facilities to our locals (the most important), we are generating tourism dollars throughout our entire community! It is our responsibility as parks and recreation professionals to tell our story, and educate the public on ALL the benefits of investing into parks and recreation.Excitied to see our impacts in 2024! #parksandrecreation #tellyourstory #sportstourism #sportseta #youthsports #georgiatourism #GRPA #competevaldostalowndes #TitleTown

The Peak Performance Equation, Taught To Companies + Teams, Is Helping High-Achievers and Athletes Maximize Productivity, Optimize Health, And Achieve Sustainable Success | Former WNBA Strength Coach | Keynote Speaker
We can all learn from the habits, mindset, and preparation of pro athletes, and this partnership between the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) and Canyon Ranch proves that. Achieving peak performance isn't just about skill—it's about how we take care of our bodies physically and mentally. The work I've been doing for the past 20 years has always emphasized that success is built on strong foundations like mental resilience, recovery, and self-awareness, which this retreat embodies. It’s a great reminder that prioritizing both physical health and mental well-being is the real key to unlocking long-term potential. #PeakPerformance #MindsetAndWellness #HolisticSuccess #AthleteMindset
The NBPA and Canyon Ranch have partnered to deliver a best-in-class performance retreat, NBPA Peak Performance - a four-day curated experience inspired by current and former NBA players. NBPA Secretary-Treasurer Mason Plumlee and NBA legend Cedric Ceballos visited Canyon Ranch to select classes, services, and experiences to build the program. Designed to rejuvenate participants, NBPA Peak Performance helps Canyon Ranch guests unlock their full potential, gain deeper self-awareness, and enhance overall performance. Huge value to implement into your life. We can create a life we want by avoiding our worries. However, creating and being aware of these worries helps avoid them.
A little food for thought!📝 About 5 years ago, I took this photo outside a gym I was working out at in Arizona! This quote has stuck with me ever since and been a backbone to a lot of my success on and off the basketball court.🏀 Don’t overthink it, just do!

Impactful Analytic Solutions for Large and Enterprise Orgs | Investor in Worldclass Data Leaders | Founder & CVO of Analytic Vizion | Former Tableau Zen Master | 2023 Ga Tech 40 Under 40
There’s nothing more amazing than watching someone’s #dream come true. This is why I wake up in the morning. This is why many #entrepreneurs do what they do. I first heard of the Savannah Bananas at the beginning of 2020. Back then, they were just a college summer baseball team with a crazy guy in a yellow tuxedo, and some really funny Youtube videos. But here was someone who was changing the game. An entrepreneur who loved baseball and made it fun. I think I loved Jesse Cole the first time I saw him. We made it to two games in 2020, and we’ve been hooked ever since. We took the entire Analytic Vizion team down to meet with the Bananas in 2022 just before they blew up and got super famous. Meanwhile, the rest of the world has come to find out about this amazing baseball team from Savannah, Georgia. If you dig with any depth, you find out that Jesse is from the Northeast and grew up with the dream of playing for the Boston Red Sox. Last week, we were in Boston to see the Braves play the Red Sox. We took a tour of Fenway Park on Friday morning as the Savannah Bananas were getting set up to play the Party Animals on Saturday night. Knowing this story the way I do, I could only imagine how emotional it would be for Jesse Cole to step out on that field that Saturday night, the fulfillment of a lifelong dream. It took 11 years after Jesse became a general manager of the worst baseball team in America. In 2016, the Bananas almost went bankrupt before they got started. But the dreamer never stopped dreaming. And then the dream came to life. It was RFK who famously said, “Some see the way things are and ask ‘why?’ I dream of things that never were, and ask ‘why not?’” Apple made famous “Here’s to the dreamers…” If you’re out there and you’re fighting for your dreams, and it doesn’t feel like you’re making much progress, that’s OK. We overestimate what we can accomplish in a year, and underestimate what we can accomplish in a decade. Your goal today and every day is to take one step forward. Never stop dreaming. #catchthevizion https://lnkd.in/eNFNG4iK

San Francisco voters are currently debating whether to limit private vehicle access on the Great Highway, a popular beachfront road. This discussion is raising questions about the users and purposes of car-free spaces. In 2022, residents voted to permanently restrict private vehicles on part of John F. Kennedy Drive in Golden Gate Park. As a graduate student at UC Berkeley and an intern at the San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department, I conducted a study to answer these questions about car-free spaces by analyzing how JFK Promenade is used. The Promenade provides a safe and reliable path for pedestrians and cyclists, promoting an active lifestyle among city residents. At its peak, JFK Promenade sees an average of 25 users per minute. It is also one of the safest places for walking, running, rolling, or cycling, with fewer than 3% of users experiencing safety incidents with other pedestrians. Additionally, the Promenade serves as a vital transportation route, with cyclists comprising over half of its users. For more detailed findings, check out the full report! https://lnkd.in/ghHwdmWV
