College Coach, supporting all students, including those who learn differently, to navigate the admissions' process.
Touring a college campus gives students and parents the opportunity to really get to know all aspects and opportunities that this school has to offer, above what can be learned on a college’s website or visiting Reddit. I recommend that students come prepared to get the most out of their visit by reviewing the website and social media pages and writing down any specific questions that they want to be answered while on the tour. Bottom line: visiting a college campus takes away any doubt that either the student or parent may have. #college #collegevisits

Students are no longer relying solely on college guides, brochures or websites to learn about their potential future schools. Increasingly, they are turning to Instagram to get a more realistic sense of what life is like on campus. From following schools & students to seeing photos of classrooms and dorms, high schoolers are using the platform in new and innovative ways to research colleges. And it's not just students who are benefitting from this trend - parents can use Instagram as well to get a better idea of what their child's future might hold. https://lnkd.in/guYbWqVj

Why do I keep getting these messages on LinkedIn? Like I'm gonna pay Tulane grad school tuition to completely switch careers -- to a career path that's both notoriously underpaid, and known for burning people out due to the incredible amount of emotional labor involved. (Funfact, I got into Tulane for undergrad, but I missed the cutoff for a full ride scholarship by 20 SAT points. Just couldn't get my math score above 690, I had perfect 800s in the other two sections.) I feel like their ad targeting is a bit... lacking. Like, I am in no way a good candidate for this. Save your ad budget for people it makes sense to target, Tulane! #linkedin #linkedinads #linkedinadvertising #adtargeting

Did you see this? This senior applied to 150 colleges. What do you think? Helms Ategeka, a graduating senior from Oakland, California, wants to pursue a music degree in college. So, he applied to 150 colleges. 👀 122 of them accepted him, and all of his financial aid offers totaled over $5.3 million in scholarships and grants. His 3.94 GPA and status as a recent immigrant from Uganda made him an attractive applicant. How did he ultimately choose his final school? * He studied the schools' websites * He studied their social media accounts * He had candid conversations with his Dad And guess what? He chose UC Berkeley, his Dad's alma mater. Key takeaways: ✅ Legacy students matter. Pay attention to them and give them concierge treatment. ✅ Your influencers matter more than ever! Be sure to market to Mom and Dad (research shows that they are one of the key influencers in decisions). ✅ Your website is the most important recruitment tool you have. Make sure it is enrollment focused and allows students to deeply engage and imagine themselves in the videos, photography, and messaging. ✅ Relevant social media matters. Move beyond broadcasting news, events and deadlines and tell stories and show off what campus life is like. ✅ Recognize that for a lot of students, it is a numbers game. The average undergrad student applies to between 8 and 12 colleges. ✅ Because of that, figure out those who are most engaged and target them in your follow up communications. By using technology to track website visits, email opens and clicks, and social media visits, your team can use a scoring system for your CRM and only invest effort in those who are most engaged. ✅ Remember, it ultimately comes down to relationship and how the student *FEELS* about your school. They make decisions based on emotion and then justify that decision with facts. What do you think? Leave your comments below. #highered #highereducation #higheredmarketing #enrollment #enrollmentmarketing Photo Credit: Courtesy Christopher Ategeka via CNN.com
