For board game developers, third party communities can play an important role in supporting players and identifying potential issues with games. “I lean on BoardGameGeek pretty heavily because there’s so many rules questions about so many of the games. Some of them are quite simple and very easy to monitor. Especially when the game is released, I want to make sure that no one’s found any loophole or has any big questions. I look at those [communities] pretty carefully after release.” – Matt Leacock Listen: https://lnkd.in/gyduXCpP #OnlineCommunities #CommunityManagement #CommunityManager #CMGR #BoardGames

Did You Know? 💡 The indie game movement has its roots in the 1980s, long before digital distribution platforms were a thing! 🎮 Back then, small developers were already pushing the boundaries of creativity, creating games with limited resources but limitless passion. At PIXL TITAN, we’re proud to continue supporting that same spirit by helping today’s indie developers reach new heights and connect with their audiences. 🚀 What are your favorite indie games from back in the day? #IndieGameDev #GamingHistory #IndieGames #GameDevelopment #PIXLTitan

I'm super excited! I've been working on a side project alongside my game development studio. You guys probably already know; But for those who don't, I'm talking about Keeru9. It's been a month since I've been working on this project, and it's going pretty well. Keeru9 is a kind of playground with thousands of games in it. Want to play a game; Tired of finding games that suit your taste; Don't want to download files and just play; Or maybe something else, related to gaming; Keeru9.com is the place for you. We've just migrated the site to next.js for smoother and more improved performance, and we're still working. I've really big plans with Keeru9, and and I'm spending a lot of time and resources on it. I'm planning on adding a blog section, a developer section (so that game dev can add their games), and much more on keeru9.com. Has anyone tried keeru9.com yet? I'd love to hear, what you guys think about the site. #games #gamedev #gamingcommunity

I started building games in April 2023. It’s been an interesting ride so far, and I’ve learned a lot from just under 8 full months of full-time work. Starting from zero, here’s what I accomplished in 2023: 2 games released on Steam. 1300 total wishlists and 150 follows. 80 sales totalling $700 before Steam fees. Two released game soundtracks. Two small Kickstarter campaigns funded. Two released demos for games launching in 2024. It’s modest, tiny even -- less than I’d hoped for and more than I’d feared -- but it's a start that I can build on, and that's what matters. It will be interesting comparing these numbers at the end of 2024, which will be my first full year as a solo indie game developer barring any unexpected life changes.
