It's not about security. It's about trust: CyberRisk Executive | VCISO | Fractional Leader | Public Speaker
CISA has released "guidance" for all critical infrastructure operators in US to guard against "AI risks." To me, this is similar to guarding against "quantum risks." It will probably be a problem to be dealt with in the future, but I don't think we know when, or what form the risks will take. Should I be concerned about sensitive data leaked through poorly secured AI portals? AI being leveraged to attack my systems? AI empowered to attack autonomously ? There are a lot of things I need to be concerned about, but not all of it needs to be mitigated immediately. It is a balancing act of prioritizing immediate threats and preparing for future, potential threats. "Head in the sand and hope" is a terrible strategy, but overspending on unnecessary solutions is also not a long term strategy for success. If I was to summarize the CISA advice, it is, "Don't ignore the risks, and understand your specific threats. No action to take today, but be ready to react quickly if necessary." Good advice for most things really. https://lnkd.in/g4cW95xc #cybersecurity #ai #ot #criticalinfrastructure #itsabouttrust
