Here are some common signs that indicate your sump pump pit needs cleaning: 1️⃣If the sump pump is turning on and off more frequently than usual, it may be due to clogs or blockages in the pit, which require cleaning. 2️⃣If you notice that water is not draining as quickly as it should from the pit, it could be a sign that there is an obstruction in the pit that needs to be cleared. 3️⃣A strong, unpleasant odor coming from the sump pump pit can indicate the presence of stagnant water or debris that needs to be removed. 4️⃣If you can see debris, dirt, or sediment accumulating in the pit, it is a clear indication that it needs to be cleaned. Wet Barrel vs Dry Barrel Fire Hydrant. Let's share your thoughts 🔥🔥🔥 Wet barrel fire hydrants have water in the barrel at all times, while dry barrel hydrants only fill with water when activated, commonly used in colder climates to prevent freezing. 👉🏻Wet Barrel Hydrants: 📍Water is present in the barrel and the main valve is always pressurized. 📍Typically used in warmer climates where freezing is not a concern. 📍Faster to operate since they are always ready to supply water. 👉🏻Dry Barrel Hydrants: 📍Water is not present in the barrel when not in use. 📍Commonly used in colder climates to prevent freezing and damage. 📍When activated, a valve opens allowing water to fill the barrel and be released. 📍Takes longer to operate compared to wet barrel hydrants due to the time it takes to fill the barrel with water.

Avoid applying granular fire ant bait when it is wet (rain, heavy dew, sprinklers, etc.), or rain is soon expected. Wet bait is not attractive to fire ants, and as such is a waste of money and time. A good rule of thumb is to avoid treating if you see water on your boot when walking through the grass. Always defer to the label and your company protocols. For more information on controlling fire ants, visit the MSU Extension fire ants page: https://lnkd.in/gp8TaerU

How to Prevent Snow Damage to Your Asphalt 🚧 Check for cracks and potholes: These will only get worse if ignored! 🛠️ High-quality subbase installation: A solid foundation means longer-lasting asphalt. 🧂 Limit salt and chemicals: They speed up wear and tear on markings and affect the environment. 🔄 Stick to a sealcoating schedule: Every 2-3 years to prevent water from widening cracks. 🌧️ Consider porous asphalt: Better drainage means less snow damage! https://lnkd.in/gC8ZYVM
