Today’s preparedness point to ponder: If you ever find yourself in a situation where you need to be rescued by helicopter or have search teams locate you, knowing your satellite location coordinates can save a lot of time and effort. Most phones have the capability to show you your latitude and longitude. Take a screen shot of that for your home and whenever you make camp or are on an extended trip into the great outdoors. Even the place you stopped for lunch while hiking would make a great starting point for rescue teams over the parking lot five miles back at the trail head.
