Life's Most Urgent and Persistent Question Martin Luther King Jr.'s powerful words, "Life's most urgent and persistent question is, 'What are you doing for others?'" resonate deeply within the realm of caregiving. For both caregivers and care recipients, this question underscores the profound connection and mutual dependence that defines their journey together. For caregivers, this question is a reminder of the immense responsibility and selflessness involved in providing care. It calls on them to act with compassion and empathy, understanding that their efforts significantly enhance the quality of life for their loved ones. The role of a caregiver is often fraught with emotional and physical challenges, yet it is also filled with moments of profound fulfillment and love. By asking, "What are you doing for others?" caregivers are encouraged to reflect on the positive impact of their dedication and the critical support they offer. Care recipients, on the other hand, often grapple with feelings of vulnerability and loss of independence. This question can serve as a gentle reminder that accepting help is not a sign of weakness but an opportunity to allow others to express their love and kindness. It highlights the dignity of receiving care and the importance of fostering a relationship built on trust and mutual respect. Together, caregivers and care recipients navigate a journey marked by empathy and compassion. By consistently asking ourselves what we are doing for others, we can ensure that our actions are guided by a genuine desire to improve the lives of those around us. In the challenging landscape of caregiving, this question inspires us to forge deeper connections, offer unwavering support, and ultimately, create a more loving and supportive environment for all. #SanMiguelDeAllende #RetireMexico #AffordableAssistedLiving #MexicoCaregiving #DementiaCare #MemoryCare #AlzheimersCare #AssistedLiving #IndependentLiving #SeniorLivingMexico #HospiceCare #PalliativeCare #CaregivingJourney #CompassionateCare #CaregiverSupport #MutualRespect #QualityOfLife #Caregivers

We talk about #Transportation quite a bit because the rapid movement of people and goods during an emergency situation is vital. Unfortunately, far too many #States have inadequate #AccessibleTransportation #Resources and #Systems. Just moving about the country via #Car, #Train or #Bus is challenging for ##DisabledPeople on an average day. The situation gets worse during an #EmergencySituation. Not having #Accessible #PublicTransportation available for use by officials as a means to quickly #Evacuate the #Population means that on average 20% of the population does not have #Access to #Assistance in #Evacuating during an #Emergency. If you offer evacuation assistance to the general public but do not have accessible transportation options for ##PeopleWithDisabilities and that is not legal. We need to think about the #WholeCommunity. Even during #NormalOperations the #Disabled have a need to access transportation resources that are accessible. We are a transient society and under the #AmericansWithDisabilitiesActof1990 if #Transportation is offered to non-disabled then people living with disabilities must have access to public transportation. To not offer #EqualAccess is required. People living with disabilities have enough trouble trying to move from one place or another without worrying about accessible transportation. Our #CEO has experienced this firsthand. We cannot always control where and when an emergency situation takes place and countless times our CEO has arrived only to find no accessible public transportation modes for him to use. Most of the time when he travels he has time to plan ahead and know what accessible transportation options he will have available but in a #DisasterResponse scenario, he has less time to plan ahead and often uses #AirTravel to arrive, as close as possible, to his ultimate destination. He does not have the luxury of driving his own accessible vehicle to the scenes where he's requested to provide ##DisasterAssistance. We strongly encourage our #DisabledFollowers, #EmergencyManagement colleagues, anyone with a #Disability, #GovernmentOfficials, #DisabilityAdvocates, #Doctors, #SocialWorkers, to submit comments so that we can improve public transportation for the disabled. We must always remember that anyone can become disabled at any point in their lives and may need accessible transportation. A lack of resources for the disabled limits their ability to engage in full participation in every aspect of society. We need to hold local, state and Federal government officials accountable for making sure the resources and infrastructure is available and that people living with disabilities have equal access and usability of those resources.

Appreciation post for an incredible person! In 2021, Tilly joined us as a volunteer, balancing part-time shifts at a pub with full-time caregiving. In 2026, she's poised to become Dr. Tilly, a testament to her resilience and willingness to push beyond her comfort zone. Despite moments of doubt and tough times, she sees every opportunity as a chance for growth. I hope she spends her entire career with us at RESET, but whatever she does, one thing is certain – she has the world at her feet. Tilly's story is a reminder that we all have the power to shape our destinies. Be brave, be bold, and believe in yourself. With the right mindset, anything is possible. Take that leap of faith and write your own story of success. #growthmindset #selfbelief

🌟 Navigating the Transition: Challenges Faced as a Disabled Veteran 🌟 Dear LinkedIn community, As a Disabled USMC Veteran, I've encountered firsthand the complexities of transitioning from military service into civilian life. This journey comes with unique hurdles, especially for those of us who have faced physical or mental health challenges during our service. Transitioning out of the military is a significant life change, and it often involves overcoming several obstacles, including: Navigating Healthcare Systems: Adjusting to civilian healthcare after relying on military medical services can be daunting, especially for those with ongoing medical needs. Employment Challenges: Despite valuable skills acquired during service—such as leadership, teamwork, and resilience—finding suitable employment opportunities can be tough. Employers may not fully understand the transferability of military skills or accommodate disabilities effectively. Social Adjustment: Military life fosters a strong sense of camaraderie and structure. Transitioning to civilian social norms and routines can feel isolating, especially when dealing with disabilities. Financial Planning: The shift from military pay and benefits to civilian income requires careful financial planning. Understanding benefits like VA compensation and navigating disability claims adds to the complexity. These challenges underscore the importance of support systems and understanding within our communities. By raising awareness and fostering dialogue, we can enhance support networks for transitioning veterans. I am committed to sharing my experience and connecting with fellow veterans and allies who are navigating similar paths. Let's continue to support each other in overcoming these obstacles and achieving our career goals. To my fellow veterans: Your service and sacrifices are deeply valued. I encourage you to share your stories and insights in the comments below. Together, we can make a positive impact. Thank you for your support and understanding. Best regards, Danny Johnson
