She knew exactly who her ideal client was...but was casting a wide net. Why was this an issue? These two audiences have different: 1. Problems to solve (which require different solutions) 2. Ways of working (which require different processes) 3. Budgets (which require different ways of scoping) And it's hard to scale when she's constantly changing all of these things to each new client. To scale effectively, you have to be specific: FOR a specific audience WITH a specific problem If you're... - NOT attracting leads TO YOU - Negotiating most of your proposals - Customizing the process and deliverables for every project - Writing content that isn't leading to new business - Constantly needing new and different resources to fulfill client projects Then you have to get more specific. Let’s face it. Marketing today can be daunting, with all the channels, technologies, regulations and compliance, and rising demands for connected individual identity and data empowerment, leaders need to be in a constant state of learning.
