My third review video. In this video I talk about Ubiquiti's latest addition USW-Pro-Max-16-PoE, a 16 Port Layer 3 PoE switch switch with etherlighting. The switch comes with 12 gigabit port with PoE+, 2x2.5 gigabit port with PoE++, and two slots for 10G SFPs.

Here's a term for you: PoE or Power Over Ethernet. The latest IP cameras receive power over the network. This is referred to as Power over Ethernet (PoE). You can also incorporate a PoE midspan or power injector between the switch and the camera. This means that you only need to run one network cable to each camera, making installation very easy. It's even simpler when you choose Merlin! 💯

This is a great little #UniFi switch with PoE+ for a few devices such as access points, phones, etc. with vlan, LLDP-MED, port ACLs, mac filtering, etc...
The #UniFi Switch Lite 16 PoE (USW-LITE-16-POE) we're happy to report was back to Ubiquiti Inc. standards when it came to adopting and a hassle-free experience. This 16-port gigabit desktop/wall mount switch with 8xPOE+ ports is a great little switch if you need something simple to get the job done. https://lnkd.in/e9e2mHUT

How Does a PoE Splitter Work? There are two situations when PoE splitter is used in a network: One is the network in which PoE switch and non-PoE devices to get powered requires a connection; another is the network in which data is sent through non-PoE network switch or router connecting with PoE compliant or non-PoE compliant end devices. As shown in the following figure, the power sourcing equipment—the PoE switch provides power source via the Ethernet cable. In this situation, the input cable of PoE splitter can connect with the switch directly. One output line supplies data and the other power. When a splitter receives a unified PoE signal, it then separates the data and power into the two different lines to the non-PoE end devices such as IP cameras and wireless access points.

What are the benefits of a PoE Injector? 1) They connect a basic Ethernet switch to PoE-compliant devices. 2) Using a traditional Ethernet cable, they reduce the need for a separate power cable to be connected to the device, so there is no need to locate a nearby AC outlet. 3) Most importantly, they help save money, space, and installation time!
