Why should we check the workability of concrete? ---> The workability of concrete should be checked because it affects the final quality and appearance of the structure. Poor workability can lead to issues with finishing and overall strength. 2. What should be the diameter of the concrete flow (Workability)? ---> The diameter of the concrete flow, or workability, should ideally be at least 650mm to ensure it can be easily maneuvered and spread evenly. Additionally, the height of the workability for 650mm flow should be 5mm less than the cover of the slab for proper placement. 3. Why should concrete be free-flowing and self-compacting? ---> Concrete that is free-flowing and self-compacting facilitates easier placement and ensures uniform distribution without the need for excessive manual intervention. This results in improved finishing and structural integrity. 4. Advantages: a) Improved finishing b) Efficient distribution to all points c) Faster construction process d) Reduced need for external equipment like vibrators e) Minimized risk of honeycombing 5. !!! WALL TIE !!! What is the aim of the wall ties ? --> To maintain the wall thickness and to bear the concrete pressure. What load do wall ties bear ? --> Wall ties can take a maximum of 1.5 ton load. How are wall ties calculated ? --> To calculation wall ties use the below formula. Wall tie length = Wall thickness + 3 times the rail(i.e. 65 mm) = Ans. for 200 mm wall:- Wall ties length = 200 + 3*65 = 395mm. for a 300 mm wall :- Wall ties length = 300 + 3*65 = 495 mm. Uses :- 1. Used to maintain wall thickness. 2. Used to bear concrete pressure. Application:- 1. Proper Cleaning should be done. 2. Apply the grease on it (Help to easily remove wall ties). 3. Use Corrugated sheet and PVC sleeve as shown in vedio. 4. Put the tie in Corrugated/PVC sleeve. 5.
