One week has passed since the GreaTest Quality Convention. Let's recap! 💡 My learnings from the sessions (with some additional inspirations from my side): 1. In today's age, developing a continuous learning mindset is paramount! 📚 It is not enough to apply your knowledge but to foster and challenge it. Improvement and adaption is the only way forward - regardless of new trending names (Robert Sabourin - Don't tell me it can't be done!) 2. 📢 📢 "Every decision taken is better than none to take." A familiar and often-used phrase agreed by many. Do you live by it? Thinking about the cost and consequences with the simple questions: "What is the worst that can happen?" or "How hard is it to change down the road?". Take the good enough one! (Sanne Visser - Decide Like a Pro: Navigate the Time-Quality-Cost Trifecta) 3. 🚨 🚨 Understand the context and the problem you want to solve. Which tools, people and processes do you need (to adopt)? There is no silver bullet for all problems adjust to the situation! (Richard Bradshaw - The End Game) 4. 📢 📢 Accessibility, Usability and Inclusion are challenging topics! Do it as part of the process and involve the target audience you build the application for. Make thoughts about personas that might be excluded due to impairments and make them part of the development process. (Lenthe Basant - Inclusion and Accessibility) 5. 🚨 🚨 Talking the language of the recipient is essential. The target audience needs to understand the message. For leaders, it is (most of the time) about value generation or risk mitigation. (Rob Lambert - Talk about value, not testing - how to bring about rapid change) 6. 📢 📢Choose your important fights - don't waste energy on side battles. Do not take yourself too seriously as well as others. It is hard to understand the pressure and influence your peer is under.
