“Uplifting event on our inaugural Financial Performance Briefing to Investors, and Site Visit to our recently operational WTP project Langat 2 Phase 1, Selangor” We welcomed close to 50 distinguished representatives from a diverse range of investors. We covered the overview of Pengurusan Aset Air Berhad (PAAB) ‘s FY2023 financial performance, ongoing and upcoming projects, strategic initiatives, ESG roadmap, future plan and outlook. Followed by a tour to our water treatment plant (WTP) recently developed and our biggest construction project, providing 1,130 MLD (million litres daily) at constructed capacity and serving major parts of Klang Valley. The project took years to complete and the funds raised via debt capital market, funded mainly from financial sector on medium/long term sukuk issued. The plant is now managed, maintained and operated by Air Selangor . Key highlights of the site visit included a guided tour of the plant’s facilities, showcasing the advanced technology and processes employed in water treatment. The project is valued at over RM6 billion. This strategic move marks a significant milestone in the oil and gas industry, signaling the project's green light after extensive studies and planning. The joint venture aims to establish a bio-based ecosystem in Malaysia, focusing on sustainable solutions to reduce carbon emissions. The biorefinery, with an estimated project size of US$1.3 billion, will process various inputs to produce sustainable aviation fuel, hydrogenated vegetable oil, and bio-naphtha. Construction is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of this year, with operations expected to commence by the second half of 2028. This innovative project not only strengthens Petronas' position in the biofuels value chain but also opens doors for global expansion and a distinctive footprint in the Asian market. EMITS is delighted to announce the signing Agreement with OFI Indonesia (PT Bumitangerang Mesindotama) on Friday 9 August 2024, for the development of a 3.5 MWp Rooftop Solar PV project at one of OFI’s plant in Tangerang. OFI Indonesia is the largest exporter of Robusta, Arabica coffee and also the largest exporter of cocoa products and ingredients. The agreement signed by Mr. Yovie Priadi (President Director and CEO of EMITS) and Mr. Ajay Gopalakrishnan Nair (VP Regional (APAC) Manufacturing Head of OFI) witnessed by of Mr. Ravi Pokhriyal (Regional Head - APAC of OFI), Mr. Kapiel Dongle (EMITS), Mr. Joseph Agung (EMITS) underscores a growing collaboration between the two companies. Industry experts have highlighted that a large part of Pengerang remains undeveloped, but this could soon change with its possible inclusion in the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone. Besides serving as a crucial hinterland for the expansion of oil and gas companies in Singapore, the vast land space in Pengerang will also see the potential revival of a renewable solar energy farm project. Good news: PT Wohlrab Indonesia is now one of the first companies in Batamindo Industrial Park to have solar panels in the entire factory roof area. The installation of a 370kWp solar system, completed in August, contributes to our sustainability goal of consistently increasing the proportion of renewable energy in our processes. As a positive side effect, the panels also act as natural shading to reduce the roof's heat load and, consequently, the power consumption for the aircon in our factory.
