🌟 Exciting Research Collaboration Alert! 🌟 We are glad to announce that Simão Santos from Lammertyn lab ( Department of Biosystems ) started a 3-month research stay at the Interfibio group under the supervision of Dr. Ciara O' Sullivan and Dr. Vasoula Skouridou. During this period, Simão will be working on groundbreaking projects to develop RPA assays and nucleic acid-based lateral flow assays (NALFA) aimed at detecting female-specific genes in allantoic fluid. His work will focus on: 🔬 Optimizing RPA reaction parameters 🔬Designing tailed primers for NALFA 🔬 Refining the assay to work with minimal sample and buffer volumes Once fully developed, the NALFA will “suit like a glove” the SIMPLE microfluidic chip Simão has been developing during his PhD, paving the way for a fully autonomous microfluidic platform for in ovo sexing.
