This also increases the demand to continue to address you with interesting and exciting articles and the publication of outstanding visual image material to meet your expectations in the future. It's great to have you here again this time: Headlines: - Presentation of the De Havilland Comet, including the Hawker Siddeley Nimrod webpage -What type of aircraft was the first fire bomber, and when was it? - Something for those of you who collect rare slides - The art of aviation photography - Zoggavia supplies publishers with images Read more ... https://lnkd.in/di_JkZb7 September is about publishing more Comet information and images and planning new photo books. That’s fascinating! The Place Charles de Gaulle, with the iconic Arc de Triomphe at its center, is one of the most recognized landmarks in France, symbolizing national pride and honoring those who fought and died for the country. Today, it’s even more interesting with the presence of a VEMA 42F aerial platform and firefighters from Rauma, Finland. The VEMA aerial platform is indeed a vital tool for firefighters worldwide, allowing them to reach great heights during emergency situations, such as high-rise building fires or complex rescue missions. The fact that Finnish firefighters, with this advanced technology, are stationed at such a symbolic place highlights the global nature of modern firefighting and international cooperation. It’s a powerful image of both history and modern emergency response technology standing side by side! #vema #vemalift #paris #france #satapelastus #whenqualitymatters #finland #businessfinland

On this day in aviation history:)
On 15 April 2016, 32 Bell OH-58D Kiowa Warriors flew in formation from Fort Bragg, in the US, creating a Guinness World Record for the Largest Helicopter Formation Flight in history. For Bell, and its customers, the Warrior’s lineage lives on, in the form of the Bell 407M – the first of a fleet of Bell’s Special Missions Aircraft that are based on its esteemed commercial platforms – but with even more multi-mission capabilities. Double Acting Ship (DAS™) principle is definitely slick… Most of my work is ensuring multi-optimized propulsion for the same reasons.
Unheard of before... a cruise ship entering Scoresby Sound in May 😮 . Here is the icebreaking cruise ship Commandant Charcot backing towards the village of Ittoqqortoormiit in NE Greenland few days ago. Video by Árni Valur Vilhjálmsson Le Commandant Charcot features a modern Polar Class 2 icebreaking hull, which combines smooth icebreaking ahead in up to 2.5-metre-thick multiyear ice, and astern in severe ice conditions such as heavy ice ridges using the Double Acting Ship (DAS™) principle. Aker Arctic Technology Inc developed the vessel concept together with Stirling Design International and the luxury expedition cruise company PONANT.

Uncovering the Past: The Story of a Forgotten WWII Aircraft Wreckage in the Kortelandse Polder. In February 2024, a remarkable recovery operation unfolded in the Kortelandse polder near Alblasserdam. Buried deep in Dutch soil since World War II, a British Hawker Typhoon fighter plane, flown by Belgian pilot Jean Noël Vandaele, was brought to light after nearly eight decades. This discovery isn't just about uncovering a piece of history; it’s a poignant reminder of the consequences of war—especially resonant in a time when war rhetoric is again echoing around the globe. The story began in 2016, with the discovery of the wreck, sparking years of preparation and collaboration. The excavation itself has not only revealed fascinating details about the past but also brought the local community together, reconnecting them with a hidden chapter of their collective history. Over the coming weeks, I aim to share this journey in multiple episodes: The Discovery: How the wreck was first identified in 2016. Our Mission: The meticulous planning that led to the recovery operation. The Legacy: The story of FlT/Lt Vandaele. What this plane, and the recovered debris teach us about the past and will be of use in the present and future. Stay tuned as we unravel the full story—a testament to the resilience of history and the lessons it holds for our future. https://lnkd.in/eM6_vpxD #WWII #WWIIHistory #AviationArcheology #Archaeology #NeverForget #HawkerTyphoon #vliegtuigberging #ErfgoedhuiszuidHolland #Ministerievandefensie #GemeenteAlblasserdam #Staatsbosbeheer #DAGNL #DenOudenBODAC #Tuijtel
