Founder of Bloom | Leadership | Culture | Wellness | Authenticity | On a mission to create a world where we get to be all of who we are
As a noob VP People, at times I made myself speak up by force. But there were still times I held back my opinions. I wish I had had the insight I hold on the complicated dance that was going on inside me that I have today. There is so much that gets in the way of us speaking up. If you are someone who is navigating finding your voice, you MUST read Elaine Lin Hering's book, 'Unlearning Silence' Or if you are someone who has always found it easy to share your view, you MUST read Elaine Lin Hering's book, 'Unlearning Silence'. Why? Because the only way that we will ever create a world where we all feel safe to speak up, is if we build it together. The message that many of us receive in the world is: 'I want to hear your voice, but only at times are appropriate' What that means is that we can be constantly placating and working around others and waiting for the time to speak up that’s most appropriate. You’re also constantly bearing the cost of figuring that out within yourself what is the appropriate time, and the burden of that is huge. And exhausting. And at times, too much to carry. The above is just one of the ways that Elaine breaks it all down, so I share it as an 'amuse bouche', a little taster, to encourage you to go deeper and read the book. GO ❤️🔥 (side note: you can also listen to Elaine being awesome and dropping wisdom on the Bloom podcast here: https://lnkd.in/e9P_Q-2c)

I LOVE this podcast! I have to admit I really didn't know much about Julia Louise-Drefus, but this podcast is amazing, and the thoughts in the post below are spot-on. Check it out!
Creative Entrepreneur | Ageism Activist | Age-Postive Birthday Cards | Affiliate Opportunities | White Labeled Products
Sometimes, you hear words that cut right to the core, like Julia Louis-Dreyfus's six words when she accepted the Webby Award for best podcast for @wiserthanme. Listen to old women, mother f**ckers These six words were her entire acceptance speech, and they were perfection. An actual mic drop moment. If you're unfamiliar with the Wiser Than Me podcast, you can get familiar with it now by going to your favorite podcast app! Julia interviews wise and accomplished women, asking them to 'give me tips from the frontlines of life; tell me what I should know.' When asked why she created the podcast, Julia responded that older women are particularly disregarded, a very untapped natural resource. Amen to that! Not only is Julia a brilliant interviewer, but she is also an excellent storyteller, which is how she begins each episode. And don't miss the end when she talks candidly to her mom about the guest she just interviewed. I can't wait for a new episode to air each week! My favorite episodes featured interviews with Jane Fonda, Billie Jean King, and Ina Garten, who presented Julia with the Webby Award. Have you listened to the Wiser Than Me podcast from Lemonada Media ? Who was your favorite guest? I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below. PS - This graphic would make a great sticker or button, don't you think?!

Every day, I talk with parents who are having a hard time with their kid (or kids). They're frustrated. Upset. Maybe even losing hope that things could ever be different. In that moment, it's my job to give parents information. ⇾ That's why I do my podcast. ⇾ That's why I wrote a book. ⇾ That's why I send you emails. Because it's my job to make sure you know that you have the power to change things. But I'd only be doing half my job if that was ALL I did. The other part of my job is to show parents HOW to turn things around with their kid (or kids). So the time is ripe for me to ask: Are you ready for a turnaround in your family? If you are… I've got goosebumps! Because there is power in this moment. Can you feel it? Maybe a little zip of possibility? Maybe it's the feeling that change can happen-and you're oh-so-ready for that change?! Good! My FREE masterclass is your next step. I will show you how to transform what's going on with your strong-willed child, and get you the tools you need to do it. There is no cost to attend. I truly hope to see YOU there. 🧠 Over-analyzing can be a common struggle, but understanding the root cause is key. Over-analyzing our own behavior, self-doubt, and even the "post-conversation hangover" can happen when you don't feel secure in an environment or relationship (be it personal or professional). Tillie Harris helps leaders and teams succeed. In this episode of the ON AIR WITH ELLA Podcast, she's sharing how our internal game impacts our external game, how our beliefs may be influencing our thoughts and behaviors, and where to start if we're desiring change. "The more threatened we feel, the more we need to control. And if we can't control anything else, we'll control the narrative." - Tillie Harris If you want to understand yourself or your team better in order to drive better outcomes, start here.
Delighted to be invited onto On Air With Ella this week to answer listener questions on confidence, self-belief and purpose. Elizabeth (Ella)'s podcast is one of the most successful podcasts in the wellbeing space because she consistently creates motivating, informative and fun content for women who want more out of life. New Podcast Recommendation!! Coming July 12!! NEXT WEEK, starting July 12th, The Completed Life Initiative will launch their new podcast series, The Art of Grief! Here they explore how artists use their craft to engage and to even re-design the architecture of their grief. Writers, musicians, visual artists and storytellers will share how through their art, a message is communicated - a reassurance even - that though we grieve alone, we are never alone in our grief. The first podcast will be an interview with author Cynthia Clark, who invited 17 storytellers to identify and to write about the emotions which emerge when loving someone who chooses to die using Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD). Their collaboration resulted in the book, The Many Faces of MAiD: What to Expect When Someone You Know Chooses Medical Assistance in Dying.

Out now on all channels, our conversation with one of our intellectual heroes, Daniel Pink! We chatted with Dan about the research on regret, the potential positive power of regret and how looking backward can propel us forward towards a more fulfilling future. Here are three key takeaways from our conversation with Dan: 1. The Ubiquity of Regret: Dan shared fascinating insights into the prevalence of regret in our lives. He highlighted how regret is a common emotion that most individuals experience, regardless of age, gender, or background. By normalizing regret, we can begin to understand its role in personal growth and well-being. 2. Transforming Regret into a Positive Instrument: One of the most impactful discussions revolved around a three-step process for transforming regrets into valuable lessons. Daniel emphasized the importance of self-compassion, disclosure, and drawing lessons from regrets to move forward. By treating ourselves with kindness, reflecting on our regrets, and learning from them, we can harness the power of regret for personal development. 3. The Productivity of Discomfort: A thought-provoking concept discussed in the episode was the idea that discomfort can be productive. Daniel highlighted how upward counterfactual thinking, which involves reflecting on how things could have been better, may initially make us feel worse but ultimately helps us improve. By embracing discomfort and distress tolerance, we can leverage regret as a catalyst for growth and self-improvement. I had the pleasure of hanging and lifting with my friend Andrew Huberman on Saturday. A few interesting insights: 1. Your entire life can change faster than you think. He's known around the world and followed by millions today, but he didn't start his podcast until 2021. It's hard to comprehend just how fast your life can change if you put in the daily effort. 2. Obsession is a requirement. When I got to his place to train, he had been working for several hours. It was a Saturday morning. People see the results, but very rarely appreciate the inputs required. Obsession with a craft is necessary to achieve .01% outcomes. 3. Do hard things with friends. Bonds are built through shared struggle. Andrew and I have chatted online for a few years, but we've never trained together. There's something about the bonds that are built through shared struggle that are just different. Relationships built through hard things are stronger. I'm fortunate to call him a friend and excited for everything he's up to in 2025 and beyond. 📌 To get more ideas to improve your life, preorder my first book: the5typesofwealth.com Enjoy this? ♻ Repost to help your network and follow me Sahil Bloom for more!

I have learned A LOT of these past four years in regards to producing the show, what topics to cover, bringing the right information forward, and most importantly, staying focused on my mission of delivering the right education and insight into the transportation industry by people who have DONE what you are looking to do, or who are CURRENTLY doing what you are trying to achieve! We've officially surpassed the 1,000 episode mark, and with that being said, there going to be some changes to the show moving forward! - We will still be going LIVE every weekday at 08:30 PST / 10:30 CST - We will be covering more topics in depth with guests, that are applicable to what you are facing TODAY in your business - We getting away from breaking down headlines. There is to much "click bait" out there that I feel does NOT paint the whole picture. Mainly, what can someone actually do with this information? That is lacking on so many levels. The sky is falling, great! But, I still have a business to run! - We will continue to talk to individuals from all aspects of the industry - Most importantly though, we will continue to create a playbook for individuals to follow in business, that will NEVER be behind a paywall, while creating a community of professionals that is centered around practical information that real professionals are applying. We will NOW be known as TheFreightCoach Podcast moving forward! I appreciate all of your support over these years. We are just getting started though, and we will continue drown out the noise with actual results! LFG!
