What’s the fastest-growing occupation in America? Surprisingly, it’s not a tech job. Nurse practitioners are leading the charge, with their numbers quadrupling since 2010 and projected to grow by 40% between 2023 and 2033, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. As nurse practitioners take on more roles traditionally held by doctors, tensions are rising. Doctors argue that nurse practitioners receive less training, which can create friction in the healthcare space. Despite this, research shows that nurse practitioners deliver similar health outcomes to MDs in many cases. This shift is reshaping healthcare in the U.S., with nearly half of patients having seen a nurse practitioner or physician assistant by 2019. As this trend continues, the debate over roles, training, and responsibilities between doctors and nurse practitioners is only intensifying. https://lnkd.in/gbipKB37 #HealthcareTrends #NursePractitioners #MedicalCare #HealthcareJobs #HealthPolicy
