Last week, the AMZL South team came together for a long overdue, engaging workshop that fostered collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and camaraderie. The agenda was packed with valuable sessions, including Current hot topics, future planning, project updates, welcoming of new team members and closing with and open forum for … anything goes, or more accurately: no such this a silly question. 🚀 But the biggest win? The opportunity for our newer team members to meet their colleagues face-to-face and put a "login" to a friendly face! 😊 This personal connection strengthened our team bonds and reinforced the importance of working together towards common goals. This was a huge success previously when AMZL RME first started and this has had a similar impact. At AMZL South, we believe that teamwork is the key to success. By bringing our diverse perspectives and expertise together, we can overcome challenges, share best practices, and drive innovation forward. 💡 Thanks to James Pascoe for organising this team event. We're always listening & learning from our people at Primark around how we can build a culture that fuels performance. This year, we made an overdue (!) change to our holiday observances in the United States, based on feedback from our colleagues & candidates, including through our Your Voice #colleagueengagement survey -- adding two additional days off for our full-time colleagues in the US. This change means that for the first time we will officially observe #Juneteenth this week, following from our addition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day in January. Our holiday observances are one way that we're Investing in an Inclusive Experience -- from recognizing moments that matter to supporting work-life balance -- it's about how we bring Our Value of #Caring and Our Behavior of #Inclusion to life. In addition to time off, we also bring this recognition into our business, with each store creating their own engagement activities -- and I can't wait to see what the stores have planned for this week! Some snaps from past events are below. #culture #primark #growth #development #retailcareers

Remember those 🎉 Spirit Week 🎉 pep rallies? Let's bring that same energy into the workplace! As L&D professionals, part of our job is to orchestrate experiences that bridge generational gaps and get employees feeling like teammates. If you're looking to shake things up, consider hosting a Spirit Week for your employees, and schedule a variety of events throughout the week. Here are some of our ideas to get you started. Leave a comment to add to the list! ⬇️ 1. Head to a local 🗝️ escape room 🗝️ to encourage collaboration, problem-solving, and communication. 2. Conduct an interactive 🤝 team building workshop 🤝 focused on enhancing a specific skill such as conflict resolution or leadership. 3. Plan an 👟 outdoor adventure 👟 such as hiking, zip-lining, or a ropes course to build trust and camaraderie. 4. Arrange to participate in a 🌎 community service project 🌎 to inspire a sense of shared purpose. 5. Host a 🥘 cooking class 🥘 to foster teamwork and creativity while also encouraging casual conversation and connection. 6. Organize a ❓ trivia night ❓ to rustle up some friendly competition. 7. Schedule a 🎨 creative workshop 🎨 such as painting or pottery to help employees get to know each other on a different level. #TeamBonding #TogetherWeWin #success #learninganddevelopment

Taking a look at your standard pieces for a successful service isn't done often enough! Hear me out! We tend to get caught up in thinking that the daily operations that are mundane are working well and forget to check in on them. It seems counterproductive to check in on something that is working or something that has been scratched because it hasn't worked in the past, BUT, have your people changed, has your guest changed, has your structure changed? If the answer is yes to any of those, then checking in on pivotal pieces is necessary! ➡️Alley Rallies Do you like them or do you hate them❓️ They are crucial touch points to make service successful at a 5000 ft view. But here’s a common pitfall—setting general goals for the entire team instead of specific accountability goals for each person. When we generalize, it’s easy for individuals to feel lost in the crowd. They may think, “someone else will handle it” or not fully understand what their exact role is. This can lead to a lack of accountability and missed opportunities for personal growth and responsibility. Here's what to check⬇️ 1. Announce specific goals – Give each person a clear, specific task. Whether it’s handling a section, overseeing table turns, or monitoring food timing, clarity builds ownership. Get even more specific with sales targets, specific items to be pushed, and consumer personalization. 2. Company Goal & Direct Check-Ins – Instead of a general follow-up, touch base with each team member during shift and check their progress. Identification of the greater goal makes everyone feel valued. Accountability is stronger with follow-through for everyone, including leadership. 3. Personalization – your people are people, each having strengths and weaknesses. Focus in on a positive and a push outside of the box for your team so it becomes exciting, not just another "lecture". ❓Question for You: How are you making each team member accountable during your alley rallies? Shifting from general team goals to individual accountability can transform how your team approaches their work—and ultimately improve your guest experience. Need a template to follow? Let's chat! #RestaurantManagement #TeamGoals #EmployeeAccountability #AlleyRallies #Leadership

🌟 My Core Value!!🌟 In my initial weeks at BALLY, I was tasked with distilling my core values onto paper and pinning them to a special board in our BOH, alongside the values of my esteemed colleagues. Reflecting deeply, I identified the following as my guiding principles: 1. Adaptability 2. Resourcefulness 3. Teamwork 4. Sharing knowledge 5. Curiosity Initially, I perceived this exercise as a means to understand my team better. Yet, over time, I unearthed a deeper purpose – a reminder of our authentic selves and unwavering values. Our core beliefs can waver amidst life’s challenges, environmental factors, and mental states. But revisiting these values serves as a grounding force, empowering us to stand firm in the face of adversity. Let’s remain steadfast in our values, regardless of the challenges that lie ahead. 💼 #BALLY #CoreValues #TeamCulture #StayTrue

It is great to see leadership in the field. Dealing with front-line team members should remind leadership of 3 critical keys to success. #1- Your internal customers, especially customer-facing team members, are as important, if not more so than, your external customers. #2 - Empathy is free! Treat others as you want to be treated! When I was starting my career, my mentor told me that you have 2 ears and 1 mouth...listen twice as much as you talk when working cross-functionally with others within the organization. #3- Be humble! Gain your success by helping others reach their goals! Remember, most employees do not leave because of pay but because of the way they are treated or by the culture of their workplace.
CEO Marvin Ellison, visiting the Lowe’s of North Miami Beach for some Q&A with the team: “I try to do this as often as I can. It’s just my way of saying thank you for what you do every day -- taking care of the customers, taking care of the business, and helping us make this a great company. I tell everybody: It always starts with the associates.” #LowesLife

Do you include Agency Associates and Resident Contractors when you have Company-sponsored events and meetings? Well, yes, yes we do, why would we not want to include them? I was surprised to hear from some other companies recently that they do not extend their events, recognition programs, meetings to their agency associates or even their resident contractors. This creates a divide whether one wants to recognize or admit to it. Treating associates differently causes mistrust and diminishes loyalty and value. At VF Outdoor, EVERY agency associate, EVERY Resident Contractor participates in all of our plant meetings, plant trainings, Birthday Recognition program, New Hire/ New Associate Announcements, productivity recognition, company-sponsored activities, projects and meal events. All associates also participate in all prize give-a-ways as well. VF is an INCLUSIVE company and our associates know if you come here to work for us, you ARE one of us. Our agency partners have always told us "we have a list of people waiting to come work for you". This is our WHY, this is our PURPOSE. I'm curious what your Company does, reach out via messenger or comment below.

It's Employee BBQ season! Looking for Insporation? 🌭🏅 When planning an event, I always head to the dollar store for a plethora of good deals and creative ideas. Everything you see in this picture is from the dollar store. In the spirit of the Olympics, why not turn it into a patriotic team-building opportunity? Add hula hoops in the colors of the Olympic symbol. Break into teams and use the colored hoops for various team-building activities. Ideas include passing the hoop down the line while holding hands - a true test of teamwork. Need to spice it up? Try hula-hooping contests, ring toss, or even team routines with the hoops. Watch as everyone has a blast! 🇺🇸🥇 #EmployeeEngagement #TeamBuilding #BBQFun #DollarStoreFinds #OlympicSpirit
