General Manager of Software Pennie Stevens, recently celebrated her 15-year work anniversary with Dicker Data! Do you know what her number one piece of career advice is? If you missed our Q&A in our first “Experience is the Difference” newsletter, don’t worry, here’s a small recap of Pennie’s incredible journey. A career spanning 20+ years in the industry, and working across sales, marketing and management, Pennie has experienced it all. “Over the years, I've built invaluable relationships in the channel, witnessing the growth and evolution of many individuals. This, combined with my fervour for the IT channel, has been the cornerstone of my tenure.” Pennie started at Epson, selling inkjet printers, where she first got to work with the Australian Channel and Dicker Data was one of her customers. After years of working with vendors she decided to join the distribution side and was excited about the opportunity for growth in Software. “My passion lies in the team's success and seeing our people grow and excel. It's been incredible to see the software team's journey from working with 10 vendors to now 28. This growth and expansion reflect our team's adaptability and success.” Continually striving to learn and educate herself, Pennie took part in the Women Rising Program four years ago, which she credits as a defining moment in her career. “It not only honed my leadership skills but also ignited a passion for empowering women in the IT industry. Since then, I've become an active mentor, dedicating myself to fostering the learning and careers of others, which has been incredibly rewarding.” Reflecting on her professional career, Pennie is grateful for the guidance she’s received. "I have been fortunate throughout my journey to have had great managers and mentors that have been supportive of my career." Her number one piece of advice to anyone in the workforce is simple. “Cherish the relationships you forge. They are not just pivotal for your career growth but also enrich your professional journey with meaningful connections and experiences and make fabulous friends.” Here’s to many more years of forming relationships and continuing to thrive in the IT world. 📰 Subscribe here: https://lnkd.in/ggJp6UtB #WEAREDDR
