December 10 is Human Rights Day! This year marks the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), a document that constitutes the inalienable rights of every individual as a human being, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. The Declaration stating universal protection for fundamental human rights was proclaimed by the United General Assembly in 1948. This year's theme is Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for All. In the midst of world challenges, new and ongoing, today is all about shifting the needle of understanding and action toward the continual protection of all human rights.
