This is such a valuable post. As a carer for my elderly parent with dementia, I’m surprised that more food suppliers/ retailers have not cottoned on to the vastly expanding aging society. Just as we have a wonderful variety of prepared meals for kids of different age groups (in the most attractive packaging), when will we see the same for declining seniors? Small portions with packaging that is not directed at children. For an elderly person to still maintain their dignity is fundamental to the aging process. I hope that by the time I get there, that when I open my refrigerator, it won’t be stocked with ready-to-heat meals with monkeys,bears and giraffes on the packaging.
