As a Fundraising Officer, you will: 💧 Build and nurture long-term relationships with fundraisers. 💧 Provide personalised 1-2-1 support to help fundraisers meet their targets. 💧 Create engaging fundraising resources and digital content. 💧 Assist in organising large-scale fundraising events. Volunteering is a great way to be involved in a cause that you're passionate about, and connect with like-minded people while making a difference. In many organisation, there is essentially a recruitment process when someone applies to volunteer. The process will depend on the organisation and role, but as n a paid employment job application you should do your research before applying to make sure it’s an organisation you want to give your time to. If it is a senior, specialised, or board level role, you can expect that it will be a much more thorough process. Remember, many of the organisations recruitment may be run by volunteers, so be patient as it may be a slower process. Looking for a job? Now that I've completed the process, I'm going to post a few thoughts on the whole thing, in the hopes that it will be helpful, especially for those looking for a fundraising job. Here's my first (hopefully helpful) tip on how to keep the job search organized. As someone who loves using a CRM to track activity, I wished I had one available for this personal project. Instead, I used a Google Sheet to track my search. A screenshot is offered below and you can re-create it. If you DM me with your gmail, I can get you the link. In addition to the column headers you see below (Jobs, Notes, Next Step, Date, Financial Info, Org Info, Timeline, Salary/Benefits, Interview Notes), I also would turn each row green, orange, or red based on status (green = open, orange = uncertain/ghosted, red = closed). 👀📢 TPP INSIGHTS: 👉 Recent Salary Trends - Marketing Roles I've recently sat in on a webinar by Charity Jobs on Salary Trends and Insights 2024. There were some interesting insights based on 48,500 UK charity and not for profit job vacancies posted on their Charity Job website 2023. Most in demand categories from candidates are: 👉 1st Policy, advocacy, governance and campaigns, 2nd admin 👉 3rd was Marketing, PR and digital with a 48% higher candidate demand than the overall average. What was startling though was there was a -28% decrease in the number of jobs compared to 2022 😥 ❓ Why is this? 🔗 I go on to discuss in my article below. #marketingtrends #marketingrecruitment #charitymarketingcommunications
