We’re delighted to have completed the construction of one of our latest Spring Protection Projects at Kilios Villiage, which is now providing clean water to over 1,000 people This is local community member Bicoty standing in front of the newly finished water storage tank. She told us "We have witnessed change when this project came about. We no longer queue to collect water like before…In terms of health, we have better hygiene because we draw uncontaminated water directly from the source through the new taps"

Water main breaks of some level of severity warrant a short term precautionary response until bacteriological sample results can confirm that the sanitary protection measures taken during a service interruption/repair event were, in fact, successful. Many of these specific types of advisory notices are undertaken voluntarily by the water supplier and conform to the guidance of the professional standards of the American Water Works Association for the triage classification and appropriate level of response for a variety of service interruption events.
