(An update for anyone interested in my son Charlie’s nonprofit, Pass the Bricks.)
This momentum is amazing. The media coverage is definitely exciting: over 60 outlets in 10 countries, including last night’s segment on NBC Nightly News. But as I watch Charlie go on this journey, what strikes me most is the incredible outpouring of support he’s received. He's heard from hundreds of people - of all ages and life circumstances - who believe in his mission and just want to help. There are now “ambassadors” (what he’s calling the individuals, families, companies, schools, churches, etc. doing Pass the Bricks) in over 50 cities across the globe. And together they’re bringing “play” to thousands of kids. I’m so happy for him—yes, to have created something from scratch and to watch it scale, but especially because he gets to see first-hand a unique level of human kindness. For a teenager growing up in our chaotic, disconnected, cynical world, this is beyond meaningful. I know it will stay with him his entire life.
If you’re still reading... 😉
THANK YOU, for all of the support so far and for spreading the word about Pass the Bricks.
IF THE LI COMMUNITY WANTS TO HELP, Pass the Bricks still needs:
-support from companies to help with cleaning, packaging, and shipping costs
-additional nonprofit partners (who can get Pass the Bricks sets to kids and families in need)
-additional exposure to continue to spread the word
THANK YOU AGAIN!
