Procurement & Supply Chain Consulting for Original Equipment Manufacturers and their suppliers in the US, Mexico and Germany.
In 2014, suppliers built relationships with customers. In 2024, customers that win the Supply Chain game build relationships with their supplier. Here is why you'll be left behind if you don't: You'll be the last to know about innovations. A supplier that doesn't feel valued won't optimize your operation. Which leads to missed cost savings. You will never get the bad news, because they don't trust you. It's time to act like it's 2024.

Ever been on an elevator pushing a button that didn't work? What if we drive toward metrics in #supplychain that are liking pushing the wrong button? If we aren't pushing the right buttons we aren't adding value, but how do we define value in supply chain? And which metrics actually correlate with shareholder value? These are all questions Lora Cecere, founder of Supply Chain Insights, has been asking for years, and she is currently doing research (on data she's collected during that time) in collaboration with Benoit Montreuil and Dave Goldsman of the Georgia Tech Supply Chain and Logistics Institute, funded by Kinaxis, to try to address these questions. They shared some of that research today at the Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM) Connect conference in a fun game show format. Shown on the stage here to lead the discussion with Lora were Peter Bolstorff of ASCM and Andrew Bell of Kinaxis. Their presentation has led to several rich conversations. To give you a taste of what they found, metrics like reducing COGS show very low correlation with shareholder value, whereas operating margin and revenue/employee both are strongly correlated. Stay tuned for where this research goes to learn more. We are excited to support this effort to move us toward a truly balanced scorecard to drive value.
