It was Summer 2014 - 10 years ago - when our resiliency, and our then over 50 years of reputation, were tested. The West Coast dockworkers strike, and a year-end bonanza of check scanner orders, collided. Due to the months-long dispute, parts shipments to our California plant slowed to a crawl. At one point, "we were one day from a production shutdown", recalled Glenn Embury, retired Executive VP of Operations. Yet at no time were 100% quality standards compromised or delivery deadlines missed, and the plant of over 100 employees met 99.6% of its production goals. We want to show what we've built for Supply: Our amazing SPARROW Parts Accountability System, and sometimes that's a challenge. We aren't Supply. So, it's hard to imagine us making something good for Supply. Plus, you already have a software-based thing that does Supply stuff and you don't want to do duplicate work. I get that. However, we are sincere in our desire to do right by Supply. We are absolutely opposed to making Airmen do more work than they have to and we are ready to learn from you. We started with a structure that seems right and will humbly accept your advice on how to make it better. We think that the space between Supply and Maintenance processes are primed for improvement. That isn't represented by any existing system. We think SPARROW offers an amazing opportunity to bring those processes into the 21st Century. Give us a little time and an open mind and let's find out what we can do together! Come on Supply Professionals...let's do this! harry.stone@stoneacftmx.com

While it may not seem like a close call, believe me, it was. If this location hadn't been shut down and offloaded, the consequences could have been far more severe than the cost of a replacement frame. When considering your people, operations, or products, can you truly afford to have unnoticed damage like this in your warehouse? Is it worth the risk of multiple operators maneuvering near this damage with the hope they won't add to it? The ROI for our inspections goes beyond achieving compliance. It's about averting potential catastrophic collapses that could lead to loss of life, products, profits, and even company shutdowns. Logistical solutions for drayage, reefers, dry van, and box truck freight. Excellence in service and communication.
why is it always the people with unqualifying super red flag MC's that send a million question marks? if you send one question mark, it does not pique my interest. if you send 3, it does not pique my interest any more. If you send ??????????????????? for the 3rd time and don't even ask for details.....i'm blocking you. *cue triggered carriers and dispatchers that do just this* and I can probably guarantee that MC is trash. is it just me? #freight #dispatch #carriers #logistics #freigthbrokerproblems

Cargo thefts were up 68% year-over-year for the fourth quarter and 57% for the year as thieves amassed nearly $130 million worth of goods with a concentrated focus on California, Florida and Texas, according to CargoNet. Logistics executives are testing new tools, such as Overhaul's new smart door seal, but say more solutions are needed. https://buff.ly/48Hgy6Z #supplychain #logistics #cscmp

Correct. Even if the Army Corps gets one or two channels open, it'll be a shallow depth and narrow width than the normal channel, so no containership of major size will fit through. And then you think about what would get priority given the limitations of a narrow channel opening: tugboats and barges -- so probably coal first. I can't swear to it, but I think getting the Curtis Bay coal terminal up and running is the top priority. Then perhaps autos before containers. By business size, you'd want to do autos before containers, but autos are heavy vessels, so containers might come first with limited capacity for smaller vessels -- perhaps sub 7,000 TEU.
Listened to a great chat today between Ari Ashe and Samantha Jones on Meet Me for Coffee ☕ with conversations around the Baltimore Port amid the tragic collapse of the bridge. If you missed it, here are my 3 main takeaways from the talk ⬇ 🚧 Although it is still too early to tell, Ari and Sam estimated that it will take many months for the Port of Baltimore to get back up and running full speed. Many shippers will look to divert cargo to the Port of Norfolk and the Port of New York and New Jersey for the time being. Look for increased volumes in those areas in the coming months ☣ Hazmat Drivers are the most impacted OTR drivers since they are unable to use the tunnels that will act as detours for the other drivers on the road. They will have to utilize other bridges around Baltimore, as hazmat drivers cannot drive through tunnels while in transit with hazardous material 🚗 The Automotive industry will be the most impacted industry due to the Port of Baltimore being largest Ro-Ro port on the east coast. Look for these Ro-Ro shipments to be diverted to the Ports in Philadelphia, Savannah, Jacksonville and Charleston for the next few months.
