Considering how AI integration in every sphere of work is inevitable, these are some important factors that need to be discussed paving the way for an open dialogue to voice our concerns.
Explore with us to understand how AI has divided scientific publishing services into two factions. One faction advocates for collaboration with AI platforms, while the other insists on safeguarding against AI mining. Here is our analysis of this important issue, presenting the driving factors for the split in vision exploring strategies for harmonizing these differences, and working towards building a cohesive scientific community. Great news - ARC Challenge is back! This is possibly one of the tougher challenges out there as you have to learn from limited examples. It tests the ability of a system to generalise fast and to unknown patterns. One key limitation is that the code needs to run <12 hours on a GPU-based notebook without internet access, so you have to bend your head around this one (aka no OpenAI APIs etc.) in order to get a solution working. I have always been fascinated by the ARC Challenge, and even have attempted to solve it (https://lnkd.in/gh_ZjTDn), so it will be interesting to see how far the tech landscape has changed since then to solve this challenge again!
Together with François Chollet and Mike Knoop, Lab42 is organising the ARC Prize - a USD 1'000'000 challenge to develop the next level of AI. Progress toward artificial general intelligence (AGI) has stalled. LLMs are trained on unimaginably vast amounts of data, yet they remain unable to adapt to simple problems they haven't been trained on, or make novel inventions, no matter how basic. Strong market incentives have pushed frontier AI research to go closed source. Research attention and resources are being pulled toward a dead end. We want to change that - you can change that! Visit www.arcprize.org and create an algorithm that is not only capable of solving specific tasks, but has intelligence!

Some interesting observations relevant to human civilization about Artificial Intelligence (AI ): 1. **Stephen Hawking**: "The development of full artificial intelligence could spell the end of the human race. It would take off on its own and redesign itself at an ever-increasing rate." 2. **Elon Musk**: "AI is a fundamental risk to the existence of human civilization." 3. **Bill Gates**: "AI is just the latest tool that we have created to solve problems." 4. **Andrew Ng**: "AI is the new electricity." 5. **Alan Turing**: "We can only see a short distance ahead, but we can see plenty there that needs to be done." 6. **Nick Bostrom**: "Machine intelligence is the last invention that humanity will ever need to make." 7. **Ray Kurzweil**: "The pace of progress in artificial intelligence is incredibly fast. It is growing exponentially." 8. **Mark Zuckerberg**: "In the next five to ten years, AI is going to deliver so many improvements in the quality of our lives." 9. **Fei-Fei Li**: "We are entering a new world in which data may be more important than software." 10. **Stuart Russell**: "If we use it wisely, AI can help us solve some of the most difficult problems we face today." 11. ** And last maybe not the most important but my :”You have to take a cool approach to artificial intelligence in order not to shoot yourself in the knee „

𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐜 #51 - 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐁𝐨𝐱 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞. Many machine learning algorithms involves exploration of latent space/features. But these features are often very difficult to explain. Autoencoders, for instance, the data generators of Neural Networks, compress the original dimensions of the input space, uncovering valuable yet unknown relationships and creates a latent space. But there is now a way to interactively exploit the mapping between latent and real features. And hence it is possible to unveil the meaning of latent features while providing deeper insight into the original variables. Sharing a visual and interactive framework developed by - Francesco Bodria et al. where they exploit and re-adapt existing approaches from eXplainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) to understand the relationships between the input and latent features. The uncovered relationships between input features and latent ones allow the user to understand the data structure concerning external variables such as the predictions of a classification model. Authors developed an interactive framework that visually explores the latent space and allows the user to understand the relationships of the input features with model prediction. Link is in the first comment I share visual resources to understand machine learning concepts, You can find all the previous visual resources here - https://lnkd.in/dNxdPuFj
