AI is everywhere but the jury is out on just how beneficial it will be. The technology is moving so fast, we just have to ride the wave and see where it takes us. Just as Donnie MacNicol came along and worked with us to develop Team Praxis, Martin Paver and his colleagues at Projecting Success suggested we work together on a project delivery AI application that we decided to call Marvin. Marvin addresses a key problem with AI such as ChatGPT and Co-pilot. While the technology is based on ChatGPT, we are very careful about the content that is used to train Marvin. There’s a lot of low quality content on the internet, much of it generated as clickbait articles. Generic AIs can’t assess the quality of content, so it all gets included in answers to prompts. People use this well of variable quality content to write more articles, that are in turn referenced by AI, and we end up with a feedback circuit that amplifies messages of dubious quality. Marvin is different. He is only trained on content from credible, authoritative and peer reviewed sources. You won’t find him in the OpenAI app store because, guess what, he’s free. Marvin is a work in progress and perhaps we’re still mad to put all this effort in and then just give it away – but we have a disruptive reputation to maintain. You can see our first videos that make use of Marvin’s capabilities here: https://lnkd.in/eaurW9au Follow our page or the hashtag #madanddisruptive and we’ll explain more each day this week. #praxisframeworkcommunity

ChatGPT-4o is still cool and you can’t deny it. Here’s the story ↓ Last week, at the AI Engineer World's fair, something extraordinary took place. Roman Huet, Head of Developer Experience at OpenAI, showcased GPT-4o. With a simple webcam, GPT-4o recognized a hand-drawn Golden Gate Bridge. In real time. It's: → Real-time object Recognition → Seamless Integration → A crowd for proof Can't wait to try this tech myself. The potential impact is immense. It's time to make progress on AI deployment. - Video: @tsarnick on X. also for the whole video.

OpenAI just announced and released their latest flagship model, GPT-4o! For those of you who missed the announcement, here's the TL;DR! - New GPT-4o model with twice the performance of GPT-4 at half the token cost ($5/$15 for 1M input/output tokens versus GPT-4 Turbo at $10/$30 respectively) - New ChatGPT Desktop app. Same general interface, with helpful shorcuts for taking screenshots of anything on your desktop - New HIGHLY expressive voice interface. It can sing, change tone, emulate character voices, and more. They showed a live translation demo that was really really awesome. This puts OpenAI's flagship model at nearly the same cost as Anthropic's Sonnet (their middle tier model), while being much cheaper than Opus. Super excited to try out some of the new voice interactions to see how they compare to Hume AI when it comes to emotional intelligence and expressiveness!

Tech favorites of 2023 🚀 As we jump into the new year, I’d like to reflect on the tech products that have made my work a little easier and that I intend to keep using. Here’s a shout-out to my go-to tools: 📌 AI gems. Without a doubt, AI-driven services took center stage this year. Like many of you, I used ChatGPT by OpenAI (nope, this post wasn’t written by it!). Image generation models such as Midjourney were also quite helpful for the Mind Studios team. However, I have to mention that from our experience, all AI-powered services are most efficient when used in synergy with human expertise. To achieve the best possible results, human contribution and oversight is vital. 📌 Fantastical by Flexibits has been a game-changer in organizing my schedules seamlessly. I’d recommend it to everyone who wants to improve their productivity. 📌 Grammarly has been my steadfast ally in creating polished content for years now. I’m so proud that this unmatched tool is Ukrainian 🇺🇦 What tech gems have made your year easier? Share your favorites in the comments 🙌 #techtrends2023 #grammarly #fantastical #mobileappdevelopent #softwaredevelopmentcompany #themindstudios

#Topics All the news from OpenAI’s first developer conference [ad_1] Illustration: The Verge ChatGPT changed everything. What comes next? It has been almost a year since OpenAI released ChatGPT to the public, kicking off the generative AI boom that has quickly reshaped the tech industry. Since then, OpenAI has been racing to maintain its early lead over an increasingly crowded set of rivals by releasing GPT-4, plug-ins that let ChatGPT hook into other services, the DALL-E 3 image generator, and an enterprise tier. On Monday, the company is hosting its first-ever developer conference called DevDay in San Francisco, where it’s expected to announce a platform for building custom chatbots. The Verge will be covering all the news out of OpenAI DevDay. The main keynote kicks off at 10AM PT and is being livestreamed on YouTube. [ad_2] #Conference #developer #news #OpenAIs
