COMPLETED | Campbelltown Catholic Club was founded in order to support the local Macarthur community in a diverse and innovative fashion, constantly looking to innovate. Its recent gaming room upgrades is testament to this with a complete refurb of its floor. DSA was asked to design, and install the LED portion of the upgrade, and the team here created a number of one of a kind screens for the room. It's showpiece is undoubtedly the gaming room entrance, which curves up from the floor and follows the ceiling line. In addition, the two cylinders in the outdoor area are also impressive, Measuring 3m high from the floor to ceiling, and being used to promote new games on the floor. Thank you Campbelltown Catholic Club, we appreciate the support and we hope you enjoy the screens. Understanding the Color Rendering Index (CRI) is essential for evaluating LED lighting quality! 🌈✨ CRI measures how accurately a light source displays colors compared to natural light, on a scale from 0 to 100. A higher CRI (90+) means colors appear more vibrant and true-to-life, making it ideal for applications like art studios, retail spaces, and homes where color perception is crucial. When selecting LED products, consider the CRI to ensure your environment is visually appealing and functional. Quality lighting enhances aesthetics and mood! #ColorRenderingIndex #LEDLighting #InteriorDesign #LightingQuality #HomeImprovement #VisualAesthetics

In designing a home cinema, absorption and diffusion are crucial aspects of room acoustics, ensuring sound clarity and an immersive experience within your home cinema room. ✅Absorption 𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞: Reduces sound reflections to minimize echo and reverberation, improving clarity. 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐬: Soft, porous materials like acoustic panels, carpets, and curtains. 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: Focus on first reflection points (walls, ceiling) and corners to absorb standing waves and low-frequency energy. 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭: Enhances speech intelligibility and prevents muddiness in sound. ✅Diffusion 𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞: Scatters sound waves evenly across the room to prevent harsh reflections and dead spots. 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐬: Diffusers made from wood or foam with irregular surfaces (e.g., quadratic diffusers). 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: Back wall behind the seating area or ceiling, especially in larger rooms. 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭: Preserves a sense of spaciousness while maintaining sound balance. A good balance between absorption and diffusion ensures a controlled yet lively sound environment, making your home cinema room acoustically optimized. 📞07478 771026 🌐 www.cinema-at-home.co.uk #HomeCinema #audiovisual #craftmanship #homeentertainment #interiordesign #moviemagic #sketchup #design

Proud to share my (winning🏅) submission for Daniel Marqusee’s XR Design Challenge! 🎉🍾🥂 🔎I invite you to try out this zoom mechanic inspired by children's gestures, set within a "Where's Waldo?"-style game. It still has room for a good polish, but the mechanic is pretty fun! https://lnkd.in/eurjvU56 Beyond the technical exercise, I had the opportunity to deepen my understanding of crucial design concepts for the adoption of immersive technologies: diegetic interfaces and their signifiers. I’d summarize these in an XR context as: ♻ Reusing everyday gestures/objects or those from the collective imagination to simplify onboarding for new users → Scrolling a menu with your finger, pulling an object towards you like a Jedi. 🛠 Providing "debug" information to users to accommodate individual, physical, or cultural specifics and enhance their sense of control. "It should work without it, but it's always better with it" → Highlighting a button when hovered over with the mouse, or a subtle click sound to confirm that an interaction has been registered. 💡If there's one lesson I’d take away from this prototyping exercise, it's to adopt a "zero-waste" approach to debug tools by integrating them into the final product. I spent hours debugging and configuring gesture detection, but nothing shows up in the final deliverable! 🤦♂️ My goal was for it to be "intuitive for everyone," and while I'm satisfied with the interaction's fluidity, I missed the opportunity to reassure the user in a way that could have enhanced the aesthetic. 🎨 A concrete example: In this prototype, you can zoom in by rotating your wrists as if using real binoculars. Instead of displaying the wrist angle values in the console to configure sensitivity, I could have shown a gauge on the binoculars indicating the current wrist twist level and the angle needed to trigger the zoom/unzoom. Huge thanks to Daniel for the insightful and constructive reviews, and to the entire XRD community for their creativity, enthusiasm, and support!
Design winners of the first XRD are in! Congrats all! IT was our first XR Design Discord, and there were so many amazing submissions! So proud of all of you! Excited to deep dive into the winner in an upcoming video! Thank you so much Bezi and Ultraleap for your support on this bad boy! +- 🔥 Join the XRD - https://lnkd.in/gpevtNc2 🏆 - Winners! The effects produced by the luminaire are, in my view, more important than the luminaire itself. While the design and aesthetics of the fixture play a role, the way it transforms a space through light is what truly matters. Lighting has the power to influence mood, enhance functionality, and create a sense of ambiance that cannot be achieved by the fixture alone. Whether it's soft, diffused light for relaxation, or focused, task-oriented lighting for productivity, the real value lies in how the luminaire interacts with its environment and serves the needs of the space..... #alnassergroup #lighting #mode
