𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 5 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽𝘀. 1️⃣ 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁, 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘆 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆. What are your core values? For example: My brand values are passion, candidness, and optimism. Your colors should reflect these values. 2️⃣ 𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘁, 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆. Each color has a meaning. Look it up. For my brand, I chose: - Black for boldness and power. - Milky white for simplicity and clarity. - Yellow for attention. 3️⃣ 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗱, 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆. If everyone chooses a color, you might stand out by choosing a complementary color or an underused one in your industry. 4️⃣ 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗵, 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂. I am a fan of the golden ratio, so I use the 60:30:10 rule. This means: - 60% primary color. - 30% secondary colors. - 10% accent color. This rule ensures a balanced and visually appealing palette. 5️⃣ 𝗟𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗹𝘆, 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗸𝗲𝘆. Use your chosen colors across all touchpoints to increase brand recall.
