Today I got to try out Cartwheel's Generative AI text-to-motion for 3D animation. From what I can tell at first glance it's incredible. I simply prompted: "Sneaking through a haunted house" and Cartwheel gave me variations of motion, and this is the one I downloaded straight into Unreal. Kind of like a generative Mixamo! Now that artists have had a few months to experiments and absorbs AI tools into new workflows, we're starting to see some very interesting things that couldn't be achieved with any other medium. Note that in all cases, bare textual input doesn't cut it as it doesn't constraint the generative engines enough to follow and convey the artist's intent. This is one of the reasons I see a lot more progress happening around open source models like stability.ai Stable Diffusion than can more easily be adapted and embedded into novel workflow than closed models like Midjourney, Dall-E, or even Runway and Pika.

A second version of custom Meta Human model with Stable Diffusion rendering. This time I used AnimateDiff and there's no more flickering.
