🚀 Adapting to Changing Job Titles 🌟 In different jobs, titles can change quickly. Let's talk about why it's important to keep up with these changes for your career. Imagine you're a skilled programmer, focusing on front-end or back-end work. In the past, these were separate roles. But now, they've merged into a new job called "full stack developer." Why did this happen? Many people didn't understand the differences between front-end and back-end work. So, employers started using "full stack developer" to find people with a wide skill set. But wait, in the last few months, it's not "full stack developer" anymore; it's "software developer"! The same thing happened with UX/UI. Now, when you look for "UX UI," you'll see "product designer" in the results. The field is changing, and so are the job titles. To keep your CV fresh, follow these title changes. It shows you're up-to-date with the industry. 💪 So, when you update your CV, stay on trend, be creative, and use the right title for you. Good luck, and remember: work smarter, not harder! 🌠 Interested in taking the first step to upgrade your career? 🎯 The Tech Career Lesson I Wish I Had Learned Earlier When I first entered the tech world, I was excited to explore everything—frontend, backend, UI/UX, data analysis, and more. However, in hindsight, I realized that focusing on mastering one specific area before venturing into others would have been a more strategic approach. My advice? Exploration is valuable, but becoming known for excellence in one domain can accelerate your growth and open more opportunities. You can focus on building deep expertise in one area and gradually expand your skillset. 💡 What is one thing you wish you knew when you started your career? I would love to hear your thoughts and experiences. Follow along for more insights on career growth, frontend development, and professional development. #TechCareers #ProfessionalGrowth #FrontendDevelopment #WomenInTech #Leadership

Why Every Tech Professional Needs an Updated Portfolio I recently came across this tweet, and it hit me hard. "If you’re a hardcore software engineer... just show us your code." Let that sink in. No one’s asking about where you studied, your GPA, or the “big name” company you worked for. The tech world is moving fast, and your work speaks louder than your resume ever could. This is why every tech professional—whether you're a developer, data analyst, or UI/UX designer—needs an up-to-date portfolio. Here’s why: 1. Opportunities Knock Unexpectedly What if a game-changing opportunity shows up tomorrow? Your portfolio should already be prepared to open the door. Keep it sharp and relevant so you're always ready to showcase your skills. 2. Your Work Is Your Brand Think of your portfolio as your digital handshake. It’s the first thing people see, and it tells them who you are, what you do, and why you’re great at it. 3. It’s Proof of What You Can Do Talk is cheap, but your portfolio shows real-world results. It answers the question every recruiter and client is asking: “Can you deliver?” 4. It Helps You Stand Out In a sea of tech professionals, your portfolio is what sets you apart. It’s your chance to showcase unique projects, creative solutions, and the real you. What Should Be in Your Portfolio? - Your best and most recent work. - Clear descriptions of your role in each project. - Results or impact (Did your code save time? Did your analysis boost profits?). - Links to live projects or GitHub repositories. Keep It Updated Don’t wait until you’re job-hunting to update your portfolio. Make it a habit to refresh it after every major project or milestone. Inspiration from the Tweet Elon Musk’s words are a reminder that in the tech industry, skills and results trump everything else. The question isn’t where you learned—it’s what you’ve done. If you’re reading this and thinking, “I haven’t updated my portfolio in a while,” this is your sign to start. Your next big opportunity could depend on it. What’s your take on this? Do you have an updated portfolio? Share your thoughts in the comments!

Ever felt like a job application was a trap? 🎣 Here's a story that might resonate with fellow UX/UI designers and researchers: I received a notification urging me to apply directly for a job. Excited, I started the process. Little did I know, the onboarding was a cleverly disguised trap to create an account without my knowledge. 😡 👉 Onboarding Deception: ↳ Instead of a simple application, I was led to create an account. 👉 Email Confusion: ↳ I had to confirm my email. Naturally, I clicked the second email on top, which was the wrong one. 👉 Technical Glitches: ↳ A bug prevented me from updating my bio, but they insisted on knowing my salary expectations (which, as we know, can vary based on project complexity). 👉 Payment Barrier: After all the hassle of confirming my email and updating my bio, I received a notification that I had to pay to apply. 🤑💰🤯 👎 😒I felt like I was treated poorly, like an afterthought. Stop with the dark patterns. Respect matters. 🙌 Have you encountered similar experiences? How do you deal with frustration during applying for the job? Something that happened to me: I recently applied for a Frontend Developer opening. But I didn’t just send a generic application. Oh no, I wanted to see how far the extra mile would actually take me. What I did: ✔️ Researched the company ✔️ Found the HR contact ✔️ Personalized my cover letter to explain why my slightly unconventional frontend skillset is just what they need I hit "Send" feeling optimistic and proud of the case I had put together. Then, drumroll... I got an automated rejection for the UX Designer position, stating that they couldn't continue with me since they found a better match. Spoiler alert: I didn’t apply for a UX Designer role. But hey, I’m glad they found someone! 🎉 Just wish I could figure out how I entered into the wrong contest. Which leads me to some thoughts: 👉 Is the time investment into a personalized application worth it? 👉 Are recruiters and HR trained enough to understand the positions they’re hiring for? I’m not saying they need to know the difference between a REST API and GraphQL, but if a CV says “UX Engineer,” wouldn’t it help to at least look it up? 👉 How often do companies miss out on great talent because of mismatches like this? I know I’m not alone in feeling this way. After countless applications, it’s hard to stay motivated. But let’s be real: companies want superstars—yet the process for finding them often feels broken. What’s your experience?

Such a refreshing job ad. What WE can offer you. Right up front and broken down clearly. I don't know this company, but I came across them while searching roles for my students. Instead of doing what most job ads do, they immediately start by communicating the (unique) benefits. The downside? They now need to review hundreds of applications 💥 #careers #ux #userexperience #tech #software #jobs #business #recruitment
