I think a lot about messaging. How much do we over assume what people know just because we know it? How often do we need to see it, hear it or experience it to internalize the message? The data suggests it varies by individual. Turbulence in 1999 was a much less known concept by the general public because a lower % of people overall were flying on a regular basis (and the smart phone had not yet been invented and we didn't see it on social media/news). We are pulling this research report and are running new comprehension tests in 2024. If you have any thoughts or insight, please send them my way! #aviationsafety #safetycards
In 1999 we developed the very first “Keep Seat Belt on In Case of Turbulence” symbol on a safety card. As you can see by the research report, all of our illustrations are data based with a minimum standard of 90% comprehension. #safetycards #seatbeltsign

A safety tip from our EMS team today. Make sure you have a 2-in-1 emergency tool in your vehicle, but remember, during an accident, you might not have time to reach it if it's tucked away in your glove box or middle compartment. Our team suggests attaching the tool to a carabiner and clipping it onto your rear-view mirror or somewhere easily accessible within arm's reach. #safetytip #ems #emergency

🚚💡 ELD Trivia Series: "Do you know your ELDs?" — "Personal Conveyance Pitfalls: Navigating the Grey Areas" 🛣️🔍 In our latest installment, we're delving into the realm of Personal Conveyance (PC) to shed light on the essential advice on its use. Understanding PC 🔍 Personal Conveyance is a driving status which allows a driver to use a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) for personal purposes while off-duty, recorded only when relieved from work responsibilities. However, only an accurate use of a PC status provides driver flexibility while ensuring safety and compliance. Common Mistakes ⚠️ Many drivers encounter pitfalls when utilizing PC status. Some switch to PC in the middle of the trip when they realize that they’re about to exceed their limits. Others use PC when returning to the yard after the last delivery. Both of these are HOS violations. Practical Tips 🛂 To avoid pitfalls, remember that you have to be off-duty when using PC, communicate with your carrier about its usage, and log it accurately. Understanding the nuanced regulations surrounding personal conveyance is crucial for compliance. Navigate the gray areas of Personal Conveyance with confidence! Stay informed and drive safe with @aistsafety 🛣️👍 #ELDTrivia #PersonalConveyance #StayCompliant #TruckingRegulations #DriveSafe #AISTSafety
