I’ve been spending a lot of time thinking about influencers lately as we recently planned two massive events for clients in Charleston and just outside of Atlanta and about a quarter of the invite list was influencers since both markets are heavy with content creators. I am always surprised when I invite influencers to come to an event when they reply asking me to pay for content. Usually these are exclusive media or VIP events. I invite journalists to attend the same events and they don’t reply asking me if they have to write about it. If I were an influencer, I would go to the event, post about it, and then go back to that client with the metrics that show the engagement specifically for them-- and then ask for a partnership. If you truly think there’s a potential business opportunity, wouldn’t it be worth 2 hours of your time to test the water, come meet us face to face and prove your engagement is valuable and could offer us something? Again, maybe this is a crazy business model idea but I would love to hear what your experience has been with this- on either side as the potential client or the influencer. Speaking of crazy business models.... here's our latest newsletter: https://lnkd.in/exBYutFX

Great community engagement skills are underrated. The goal of any influencer partnership is to build the following with your audience: ► Trust ► Credibility ► Confidence So one thing I always look at when I’m evaluating options for B2B influencers for a client project. ✍ Their authenticity and engagement ✍ → Are their comments genuine? → Do they respond to their comments? → What’s the tone of voice in responses? → How do they engage with their community? → Does their content align with your brand values? Whilst AI comments continue to be a thing 🙃, authentic engagement is a non-negotiable.

Let's talk about something that's been bugging me lately. 🤔 You know those so-called influencers who organize these hyped-up events with catchy titles and descriptions, and then at the last minute, they go and reschedule? It's frustrating, right? 😤 I mean, it's not just about the inconvenience of having to rearrange your schedule. It's also a matter of respect and responsibility. When you commit to attending an event, you expect the organizer to do the same. 👥 And let's not forget about the impact on the influencer's reputation. Constant rescheduling can leave a bad impression on their audience, making them question the influencer's reliability and credibility. 🚫 In my opinion, influencers should hold themselves to a higher standard. They should prioritize professionalism and consistency, especially when it comes to event planning. After all, their followers look up to them for inspiration and guidance. 🌟 So, let's all aim to deliver top-notch content and honor our commitments. That's how we can earn the trust and support of our audience. 🙌 All right, rant over. Thanks for listening! 😊 #EventEtiquette #InfluencerStandards #ProfessionalIntegrity #RespectfulPlanning #TrustBuilding

It's easy to fall into the trap of following self-proclaimed “influencers” and “gurus” who dish out questionable advice. Here's why that's a mistake: I’ll use an example of a false claim I see all the time: “You MUST post videos daily on every platform to remain relevant.” This advice: - Contradicts data on optimal posting frequencies - Ignores platform nuances - Overlooks audience preferences Rather than fall into the trap and trusting random people that show up on Reels - 1. Vet your experts: Look at their actual results and credentials. 2. Rely on data: Use data-driven strategies tailored to your brand. 3. Know your audience: Focus on what resonates with them. Success in marketing your own business doesn’t mean someone can successfully market yours. The skills needed are different and it takes years to master. I've seen influencers think their one success means their methods work for everyone. It’s simply not true. Helping others succeed in various industries requires unique skills and experience. At Rossman Media, we have real experts and the case studies to prove it. Interested in working with us? Send me a DM!
