10 Life & Work Lessons from Pickleball with Dad My Dad worked in R&D at Eastman Kodak for his entire career until he retired early at 50 to take care of my mom full time, which was the next 30 years. They started dating when they were only 14, and her Multiple Sclerosis symptoms started when she was 16, but it was undiagnosed until after the disease forced her to drop out of college. Dad and I started playing pickleball together after Mom died, and it has been wonderful for the both of us. My daughters join us when they can, and when I was explaining some of the rules to my youngest it occurred to me that lessons to successful pickleball apply to work and life as well. Here are 10 life & work lessons that I’ve taken away from pickleball with my Dad: Waste no energy – efficiency is key Playing with the best makes you better – surround yourself with great people and keep learning Accuracy is Everything – close means nothing Where you Stand Matters – where you position yourself is crucial Trust your Partner – be a good teammate You have GOT to get your serve in – a certain level of performance has got to be maintained Rules matter – you can’t excel if you don’t understand the rules of the game Seize the opportunity – see the opening and take it Don’t underestimate your opponent – do your research and don’t be overconfident Don’t be a jerk – self control is a must & being likeable always helps

Making sure everyone on the second shift has everything they need to be as efficient as possible. Running jobs on a press as scheduled. 😊 Favorite part of your job? Sharing my knowledge and experience with the ones I work with, and seeing the positive attitude from the employees I work with. ✨ What are your hobbies outside of work? Taking time for my family and making memories with them. Also, I enjoy watching my 11-year-old play soccer and coaching my 9-year-old's soccer team for GTFC Impact. When I can find time for myself, I enjoy playing cornhole. 💬 Favorite quote?
