I just finished my very successful production of Miriam and Esther go to the Diamond District at the Magic Theatre in San Francisco. Good opportunity 

It's Everest Season and I'm coming up on my 2nd anniversary of winning an EMMY for best picture which NFL 360 shot (also nominated for best cinematography) post my Everest summit. I realize that change happens for all of us but by stepping into the fear of the unknown, amazing things can happen which you never realized could even be a possibility. I recently switched companies and didn't know how things were going to play out but by staying focused on the things that matter, I was able to land with an amazing company Minute Media- to continue in my executive role to help run the team verticals at Sports Illustrated which I started. Lessons learned: 1) step in the fear 2) stay focused 3) do so with daily discipline 4) be relentless. Result: Good things will happen. Below: trailer of the the 30 minute film. Repost IATSE ‘Avatar' VFX Artists Vote to Unionize with IATSE By Overwhelming 75% Support Visual Effects artists employed by a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Studios, best known for working on James Cameron's 'Avatar' Film Series through Lightstorm Entertainment Productions, have voted to unionize with the IATSE. In a unionization election held by the National Labor Relations Board, 57 voted in favor of union representation, while 19 voted against. With this announcement the 'Avatar' VFX artists become the first 'vendor-side' VFX artists in the United States to win union representation through an official NLRB election. Affordable healthcare, sustainable benefits, and living wages are top of mind for hopeful VFX workers. While positions like Production Designers Art Directors, Camera Operators, Sound, Editors, Hair and Makeup Artists, Costumes / Wardrobe, Script Supervisors, Grips, Lighting, Props and Paint, among others, have historically been represented by lATSE in motion picture and television, workers in VFX classifications have not. The news comes on the heels of similar successful efforts across the country, including in-house VFX staffers for Marvel and Walt Disney Pictures, and DNEG workers in British Columbia. Recently, I had the privilege of filming at The AMA Group's summer party at The Colony in Wilmslow. Let me tell you, these folks know how to celebrate in style! While the event was a blast, it presented some unique challenges from a videographer's perspective. Despite the picture-perfect weather, filming in bright sunlight can be a nightmare. Harsh shadows: Direct sunlight creating unflattering shadows on faces. Overexposure: Bright backgrounds leading to washed-out subjects. Enter the ND filter, an obvious essential. Squinting: Nobody looks their best with scrunched-up eyes, so constantly switching angles Equipment overheating: Cameras don't love the heat either! But with some creative problem-solving and technical know-how, I managed to capture the spirit of the event.
