Three things I didn't know about launching on Product Hunt. ⤵⤵⤵ Shameless plug: If you like the following, Ubicloud is LIVE on Product Hunt (PH) now. Please support our launch: https://lnkd.in/eFZyy_tb 1/ When the PH day starts (one minute past midnight PST), your launch either gets featured or not. We didn't know ahead of time if Ubicloud would be featured. They say that reaching out Product Hunt and asking for feedback helps. So does creating a product teaser and building an audience ahead of the launch. 2/ The first hours (midnight to 4am PST) are crucial. If you're featured, everyone gets an equal amount of air time on the front page until 4:01am PST. After that, launches get sorted by popularity. I'm guessing launches that are above the fold get higher visibility. 3/ You can pick any day of the week (or month) for your launch. If you do well on a Monday, then you have a higher chance of winning the product of the week (because you're live for the entire week). We ran an analysis and found that surprisingly, Monday isn't the most competitive day. Competitiveness by day (lowest to highest): Sunday / Saturday, Friday / Monday, Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday. Again, if you like this, please support us on Product Hunt. Ubicloud + Kamal lets you deploy web apps anywhere using a completely open source stack.

The platform market is continuously reaching saturation. As of July 9, 2024, about 2.3 million apps are registered on Google Play and about 2 million apps on this iOS App Store, and about 350,000 new apps are released monthly. This means that thousands of apps are released every day. To survive in such a competitive platform market, it is most important for a company to have products that are loved in the market. To this end, achieving ‘PMF(Product/Market Fit)’ is key. PMF is a concept that indicates how well a product meets the market’s needs and expectations. It means that a product that customers need and are willing to pay for. To achieve PMF, you need to develop and verify hypotheses at a rapid pace and improve solutions that meet the needs of the market. To create a product that can fulfill PMF, we need to quickly verify the hypothesis and improve the solution based on it. In other words, ‘speed’ is the key. Today, I’d like to introduce LMF(Language/Market Fit), a tool that allows you to quickly test market fit.😁 Subscribe: https://lnkd.in/gbPgN2f5 Read to text: https://lnkd.in/gtytJMpT

Ugh, another email that says 'make it user-friendly.' What exactly does that mean? Ever get a project request that says "make it user-friendly" but leaves you scratching your head? Yeah, us too. Here's the thing: "user-friendly" is code for a bunch of important details. Walk a Mile in Their Shoes: Imagine you're the user. What tasks do they need to accomplish? Think of it like designing a playground – gotta know how the kids will play! Clarity is King: Simple language, clear instructions, and intuitive design make things easy to use. No more cryptic messages, like a treasure map with missing clues! Less is More: Don't overwhelm users with too many features. Keep it clean and focused, like a well-organized toolbox for the job at hand. Testing Time: Real users trying out the app is the ultimate test. Watch how they interact, see where they get confused, and fix those bumps in the road. Feedback Loop: Listen to user feedback! They'll tell you what works and what doesn't. It's like getting feedback on your cooking to make the next meal even tastier! By decoding "user-friendly" and focusing on user needs, we can build apps that are truly a joy to use. Want a user friendly app, lets have a chat!

Is your app acting wonky? It might not be you... Ever feel like your favorite app is stuck in slow motion? You tap, you wait, and nothing... This might not be your internet connection acting up; it could be a hidden culprit: backend problems! The backend is the engine that powers your app, and when it sputters, the user experience suffers. Here's how: 1. Slow loading times: Ugh, the dreaded spinning wheel of death! A sluggish backend makes even the most patient user want to throw their phone across the room. 2. Surprise outages: Just when you're on a roll, the app crashes. Not only is this frustrating, but it can also disrupt your workflow. 3. Data glitches: Ever typed a message and then...poof! It disappears. Backend issues can lead to data loss, making you question if your information is safe. 4. Security scares: A weak backend is like a leaky bucket for your data. This can put your personal information at risk and shake your trust in the app. 5. Unpredictable behavior: Sometimes apps act like they have a mind of their own. This inconsistency can be super confusing and leave you feeling lost. So, what can we do? · Developers: Keep those backends healthy with regular check-ups and updates! · Users: Be patient, and if you experience issues, let the app creators know. They might not be aware! Remember, a happy backend equals a happy app experience. Let's work together to make sure our digital lives run smoothly! #ux #backend #techtalks P.S. Share your backend horror stories (or wins!) in the comments. Let's commiserate and celebrate a better app future!
