🖤✊🏾 "Brothers, Our Freedom Is on the Ballot: The Fight Continues" To My Brothers, Nationwide, This election is being called the most consequential of our time—for good reason. It’s not just about politics; it’s about freedom. Freedom that we, as Black men, have been denied for far too long. For generations, we’ve been ripped from our families, targeted by unjust systems, and lynched by those who called themselves good American Christians. We know what it means to fight against all odds, and now we’re here again, standing on the frontlines of yet another battle for survival. Don’t be fooled by the rhetoric. This isn’t just another election—it’s about the survival of democracy and our place within it. When we were enslaved, our women stepped up to hold our families and communities together. We honor their strength, but we can’t keep repeating that pattern. Now, more than ever, it’s time for us as Black men to rise and fight back—together, alongside our sisters. 🗞️ The media claims the Black male vote is waning, that we’ve grown indifferent, that we’re being swayed by empty promises or crushed by disillusionment. They say we don’t care, but we know the truth. **Our vote matters—**and that’s exactly why they want us to sit this one out. Don’t be deceived by their lies. We’ve seen this before: - The same people guilty of housing discrimination against Black and Brown families remain in power. - The same ones who pushed for the death penalty for the innocent Central Park Five want us to forget their actions. - They are the same people promoting policies designed to divide us, destroy our progress, and silence our protests. ⚠️ If we don’t act, 2025 will bring devastating consequences to our health, education, jobs, financial stability, and even our right to protest. This is bigger than one election—it’s about the future of our children and the generations that will follow. Ask yourself: Who will you vote for if you’re voting in your own best interest? 🚨 They want us silent, hopeless, and invisible. But the stakes are too high for us to disappear. Don’t let their lies steal your voice. Don’t drink the Kool-Aid. ✅ Get involved: Talk to your brothers, families, and neighbors. Help register voters in your community. Knock on doors, use social media, and spread the message however you can. Frederick Douglass once said, “Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will.” This election is our demand for freedom, dignity, and justice. It’s time to get WOKE again, open our eyes, rise up, and lead. Blessings, Dr. William M. "Civic Culture is the the sum of the countless choices millions of Americans make every day as we navigate how to live together. Civic Culture shapes how we treat one another, whether we care for our community, how we show up to solve common problems, and whether we are able to disagree without hating each other." So proud to have been a part of the team (alongside Eric Liu, Betsy Super, Caroline Jany, Natalie J. Valentine, Désirée Jones-Smith, Eunice Lin Nichols, and many many more) that helped bring to life "Habits of Heart & Mind"–a report on the what, why, and how of civic culture. If you work or serve in any facet of civic life, this report is for you.

What does it mean to be an ally in today's environment? It may be more than you think. You don't need to identify as part of the community you stand by, you just need to show your support and help leverage the voices of those in said communities. During this Pride Month, hear what three self-identified Zebra allies say goes into allyship, what efforts can be done, and how to make sure your actions are in line with your words. https://lnkd.in/eAyeD5Q6
