B2B marketing is well and truly dead. 💀👇 Treating businesses like they act independently of the people that run them is a mistake I see time and time again. I'm often asked to present a watered down version of my comms to appease a subset of our audience. I get told... ❌ "We need less colour" ❌ "Can we lose the unicorn" ❌ "I don't think CEOs will like it" ❌ "It works for B2C but not B2B" 🙅♀️ Divorcing your identity from your communications because of a B2B perception is killing your brand. ⏰The way we consume content as an individual is changing. We are time poor and subjected to thousands of offers daily. If you don't stand out and communicate quickly, you're lost at sea. ✋Just because your audience "isn't on TikTok" doesn't mean they inherently prefer a 12 minute educational video, or a 60 page white paper full of footnotes. But as marketers we know this, right? So why are we still creating B2B content like it's 1991? It's time we flipped the switch on B2B marketing and took a new approach. It's time to 👏market👏to👏people👏not👏businesses👏 Your whitepaper is great. Your e-learning course is brilliant. Your eBook is full of insights. 🙅♀️Don't let your content die because you haven't considered the best way an individual can engage with it. ✅Make the video. ✅Create the carousel. ✅Be witty and smart with your copy. Give me a reason to engage with your content that sparks joy on my commute, rather than another long form post I'll skim over.
