It may be counterintuitive to look to the rivers and seas to affordably deploy fiber, but “near shore” deployment of fiber provides a way to deliver broadband to towns and communities that in some ways can be easier than dry land deployments. Slightly non-worky question, but please bear with me. Do any of my expert contacts know who would be an appropriate person to speak with at National Grid, regarding potential DNO-level connection capacity in the former Central Networks West area (central Warwickshire, to be precise)? I know that in the past other DNOs published traffic light type maps of areas which were electrically constrained, but I have not been able to find anything similar for NG as a DNO. The origin of the question is a potential multi-000 house development, with associated school(s), shops, leisure etc - so I’m interested in finding out the extent to which that could be serviced by existing infrastructure or whether there would need to be significant upgrades / reinforcement. Randolph Brazier, Andrew Neves, others working in the DNO space now, or in the past…?? PMs welcome!
